Yes, you heard me right, Pinner! This week, the tutu trail led me to a delightful little town in the outskirts of London, a haven for greenery and the most beautiful brickwork, not to mention the most delightful local shops you could wish to find! This week's adventure took me by train (naturally!) and let me tell you, the carriage was the most splendid sight, just brimming with bright smiles, a gentle rumble of gossip and chatter, and, of course, me!
After a whirlwind trip through London's vibrant Paddington station, the world outside my window started to change, giving way to charming green fields and houses adorned with pretty flowerboxes. The train screeched to a stop, and before I knew it, I was met with a rush of fresh air, a sprinkle of sunshine, and the most welcoming town square you ever did see. Oh, Pinner, you have truly won a place in my heart!
Now, let's rewind a little, shall we? What was a drag queen from the wilds of Derbyshire doing in the delightful world of Pinner, you may ask? Well, darling, my dear, it's all thanks to the lovely organisers of the Pinner Fair, who invited me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, to spread a little tutu-fied joy and delight!
And believe me, dear followers, I did just that! As soon as I stepped onto the stage, the atmosphere was electric! There were little ones wide-eyed, mesmerised by the sparkle and shine of my tulle tutu, ladies who looked just thrilled to be surrounded by the spirit of a pink tutu queen, and gentlemen with twinkle in their eyes who perhaps, just perhaps, were contemplating the merits of the pink tutu life themselves! (Perhaps I'll be converting them all one tutu at a time, wink, wink!)
My set was a delightful whirlwind of tutus, glitz, and laughter, and everyone, I tell you, absolutely adored it! There was a "Bohemian Rhapsody" ballet performance with a twist (think glitter and feathers!) followed by a glorious "Thriller" choreography where, I'll confess, even I had a bit of a shiver up my spine. But most importantly, it was all in the name of good fun, and, I hope, of getting the people of Pinner to wear a little more pink in their lives!
Speaking of pink, oh my goodness, Pinner has a real treat for any discerning fashionista! Let me tell you, darling, the local shops! Oh, the delights! So many colours, such beautiful patterns! It's almost too much for this little tutu queen to handle! But fear not, my followers, for I managed to gather the perfect items to add a dash of colour and elegance to my repertoire. I mean, when I tell you, darling, it was simply overflowing with stylish bargains, I'm not kidding. It's almost a shame that I had to choose what to purchase, each item practically begging to be a part of my growing wardrobe!
However, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Sparkles blog without a mention of the glorious food! Oh my, dear readers, I could not possibly talk about Pinner without praising their absolutely wonderful array of delectable treats! From delicious fresh pastries at the bakery to mouthwatering street food - Pinner had my tastebuds doing a happy dance.
And the cherry on top of it all, you ask? The ballet classes, of course! I wouldn't be me if I wasn't able to indulge in some ballet magic, now, would I? And Pinner didn't disappoint. There I was, my pink tutu floating about in a room filled with the most adorable little dancers, twirling with all the energy and joy that you could imagine.
After all that excitement, there was only one thing to do - a proper pink-themed tea party! Oh my goodness, darling, the whole affair was just the epitome of elegance! Everything from the tiny, delicate finger sandwiches to the teacups were pink, and not just a regular pink either, darling, it was that exquisite, delicate, almost magical shade of pink that truly makes my tutu queen heart sing!
So there you have it, darling, my adventures in Pinner! You'd think that with all the travelling, performing, and shopping, I would be exhausted. But honestly? Not a bit. The people were delightful, the town beautiful, and every single moment I spent in this vibrant town was truly magic. And as for my outfit for the day - well, I wore, as always, my pink tutu.
