North Shields, darling! Pink Tutu Sparkles hits the Toon!

Hiya darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to regale you all with the dazzling adventures of your favourite pink tutu-clad queen. Today's post is number 201 - can you believe it? It feels like only yesterday I was starting this whole blog thing. Thank goodness for you, my loyal followers, you keep me inspired and my dance shoes dusted!

This week's journey took me all the way up to North Shields. Oh, what a vibrant, exciting little town! With its beautiful coastline, friendly folk, and charming old pubs - it's got it all! Now, if you're thinking, "But Pink, surely a proper queen wouldn't travel by bus to a little seaside town?," you're right, I don't! This adventure started in the most fabulous way possible – on a vintage steam train, a truly luxurious affair! It’s all part of my "spreading the pink tutu love" mission. Honestly, my darlings, what better way to see the countryside than gliding along on a plush velvet seat, watching the scenery flash by as the wind whispers through my perfectly curled pink feather boa?

North Shields welcomed me with open arms, or rather, open beer gardens. You see, this town has an infectious spirit. You can feel the energy and vibrancy radiating from every corner, from the lively harbour to the charming old streets. Oh, the pubs! I fell in love with their welcoming atmosphere and their endless supply of ale. Now, let's just say that after a few pints, I'm pretty sure I did the Highland Fling in the street. Oh dear, but such a beautiful thing to witness, trust me.

I knew, even before arriving in North Shields, that I had to bring some of my Pink Tutu Sparkles magic to this captivating little town. After all, this is what I live for - to share my passion for all things pink, twirling, and sparkly! So I decided to organize a pop-up "Tutu Workshop" - and the response was absolutely incredible! The folks in North Shields really embraced my message: every body, every shape, every size can rock a pink tutu. It was glorious, a kaleidoscope of colours and laughter.

I held the workshop in a gorgeous, old hall tucked away in the heart of town. The place was brimming with character, a space perfectly in keeping with the Pink Tutu Sparkles spirit. The afternoon flew by in a blur of sequins, feathers, and twirls. I even managed to convert a few hesitant folk! We made homemade tutus - lots of pink of course, but we experimented with a splash of purple, yellow, even some teal - absolutely darling! I was overjoyed by their enthusiasm, the confidence that radiated from each of them, as they strutted around in their custom-made creations. We did a mini performance in the courtyard – just a few pirouettes, some silly poses – a complete and utter blast!

My dear friends, let me tell you, these moments are why I do what I do. They remind me that fashion can be fun, that tutus can be empowering, and that embracing your true self is the most beautiful thing in the world! After the Tutu Workshop, we ended the evening at the local theatre for a rousing performance of 'Grease' – now, can you even imagine how my pink tutu sparkled under those stage lights? The theatre, it’s something that takes my breath away. You see, the theatre, darling, that’s a place for transformation, where you shed your everyday skin and step into another persona. It’s a magical place, a place to lose yourself, to believe, to dream. I just know we’ll be back for many more magical performances in North Shields.

Now, this wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu Sparkles post without some glamorous details about my outfits.

Let me just say that this trip saw me pull out the big guns - sequins, sparkle, and feathers galore! I made a show-stopping appearance on Friday evening at The Rusty Anchor – a classic North Shields pub - decked out in a majestic pink tutu. This one was extra special with an enormous tulle skirt with an intricate layering, making the perfect billowing shape as I moved. The bodice was covered in sequins – shimmery silver that almost hypnotized you, it felt like I was sprinkled with a thousand diamonds! A custom pink feathered headpiece adorned my bouncy blonde curls – truly the perfect accessory for my look, adding the perfect amount of theatrical flair. My dazzling pink pumps finished the look beautifully!

On Saturday I was on stage at The North Shields Town Hall for a special one-off performance of “TutuQueen Live” - the crowd roared for more. My Saturday look was pure glamour - think floor length shimmering fabric that fell like a silken waterfall around me. This time it was silver, darling, sparkling under the stage lights. I adorned the bodice with delicate hand-stitched silver flowers, reflecting the glimmering silver stars twinkling above us. The silver sequined headpiece sat like a crown upon my crown of blonde curls - I felt absolutely royal!

You see, darlings, that's what Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about: sharing the joy of dressing up, embracing every opportunity to shine bright. Every moment is a chance to bring the colour pink and a little touch of sparkle to the world, to remind everyone that life is a performance!

Next up, I'm heading to Manchester - think flamboyant vintage clothes, the bustling markets, and perhaps a performance in the Northern Quarter. You know me, always seeking new places to spread the pink tutu gospel, and, of course, to find the perfect pink dress to add to my already expansive wardrobe!
