Consett Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes On The North East (Blog Post #246)

Helloooo darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing, sequin-loving, all-round fabulous gal, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm buzzing with excitement today, because I'm finally ready to share all about my latest adventure in the wonderful world of sparkly travels โ€“ Consett, here I come!

You might be thinking, Consett? A little bit out of the way, even for a glitter-loving diva like me, right? But believe me, babes, this trip was all about embracing the magic of finding fabulousness in the unexpected places. ๐Ÿ’–

As always, I'm funding this glamorous expedition with my hard-earned glitz and glamour dollars. You see, my darlings, itโ€™s a tough life out there being a travelling queen โ€“ long train journeys (or a delightful horse ride if youโ€™re lucky!) with piles of costumes, a few feather boas, and maybe even a sparkly tutu or two to boot (pun intended, of course). ๐Ÿ˜…

But itโ€™s so worth it! Each town brings a whole new audience, a new set of friendly faces ready to be charmed by my dazzling performance. Iโ€™m all about spreading the joy of the sparkly and fabulous, my darlings, and who knows, maybe Iโ€™ll even get a few more folks to embrace the gloriousness of the pink tutu. ๐Ÿ’•

So, back to Consett! This charming little town in County Durham, nestled in the North East, felt like the perfect place to swap my feather boa for a warm scarf and a steaming hot cuppa. (Well, a sparkly scarf with some feathers, of course! I canโ€™t let go of my inner diva, can I? ) ๐Ÿ˜‚

Now, as many of you know, I'm a huge fan of ballet, so one of the main reasons I decided to come to Consett was because itโ€™s the home of the Consett Ballet Club, which celebrated its 65th anniversary this year! Isnโ€™t that fantastic? You might be thinking "But Pink Tutu, isnโ€™t this all about your fabulous drag shows?โ€ and youโ€™d be absolutely right. But the love for ballet runs so deep! I actually began wearing pink tutus for charity events at the university while studying science. I got so excited about performing and spreading joy that I decided to start doing it as Pink Tutu Sparkles, too!

Anyway, I had a lovely afternoon taking a ballet class and enjoying the local company. Their energy was contagious, and the moves? Magnificent! It really got my tutu twirling legs going โ€“ even though I was wearing my trusty sequin boots and fabulous feather boa. Iโ€™m a little obsessed, I confess! ๐Ÿ’ƒ

But speaking of outfits, my dear followers, my fabulous Consett costume was nothing short of spectacular. A soft shade of blush pink (my favourite, obviously!) tutu with a cascading train of pink ombre tulle, topped with a sparkling, shimmering bustier that glittered like a thousand stars. The real showstopper, though, was my gigantic, fluffy pink hat with matching pink and silver feather accents. This was my tribute to all the glamour of Consett.

The whole look felt incredibly dramatic yet wonderfully warm. After all, a true queen knows the importance of being versatile, adapting to new surroundings, but always remaining utterly, perfectly, PINK-TASTIC!

Now, you've probably guessed this next bit: I had to share this magical, Consett-tastic experience with my fabulous followers on my Instagram stories! My little tutu-twirling queen was busy dancing around Consett Market Square, and of course, she made some new friends (well, a friendly pigeon). ๐Ÿฆ Let's just say the pink feather boa went down well!

Later that day, I graced the stage at Consett's very own Little Theatre, with my sparkly set for the evening featuring everything a drag queen needs โ€“ glitter, sequins, fabulous feather boa-ness โ€“ all designed to leave a little bit of glitter wherever I go. And let me tell you, Consett's Little Theatre was buzzing with excitement. This place is a hidden gem in the north. ๐Ÿคฉ

My favourite part? Of course, it was the audience. I absolutely loved meeting all the lovely locals and spreading my sparkly, rainbow message of love and acceptance. (With a dash of glitter and fabulous pink tutu fashion, of course.) ๐Ÿ˜‰

That night, after I bid farewell to the incredible audience in Consett, I boarded the train, feeling refreshed, inspired, and even more determined to bring a little bit of pink tutu magic to the world.

It really makes me feel like Iโ€™m living the dream โ€“ dancing, performing, making people smile, and embracing all that life has to offer โ€“ with my trusty pink tutu always by my side. ๐Ÿ’–
