Bishop Auckland: A Pink Tutu Pilgrimage!

Hello my darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the enchanting town of Bishop Auckland! I can’t believe it’s post number 250! My how time flies when you’re having fun. Don't you just love it when a place feels so full of history and charm?

This trip, however, wasn’t just about soaking in the beauty of the North East – it was all about bringing the magic of Pink Tutu Sparkles to the people of Bishop Auckland! I’m always on the hunt for new audiences to spread the joy of tutus and this town, nestled amongst rolling hills, was calling my name.

Now, I know you lovely lot are thinking "Pink Tutu Sparkles on a train?! Surely a horse-drawn carriage is more your style?". And you know what, you'd be absolutely right. BUT, with my latest set designs, which are taking a rather "Mad Max" twist with sparkly metallic, a horse just wouldn't be practical, or glamorous for that matter!

So, onto a train I did, like a beautiful ballet princess travelling in a carriage of glitter and sequins. Now, there's a story behind this choice. I just love trains, you know, chugging along on iron rails, whizzing past the countryside – it's such a calming and romantic way to travel! Reminds me of that one scene in “The Princess Bride”, except you know, I'm definitely not being pursued by an evil Westley!

Bishop Auckland, with its charming cobblestone streets, majestic cathedral, and welcoming locals, instantly made me feel at home. And who could blame me? The town seemed tailor-made for Pink Tutu Sparkles! The historic aura, coupled with the warm friendliness, just gave me a boost of inspiration for the show that night.

Now, you guys know my journey to becoming Pink Tutu Sparkles. Started with a pink tutu, a sprinkle of confidence, and a pinch of "Why the hell not?”. The transformation happened during my science degree at University, you know, surrounded by beakers and test tubes, with all the colour and sparkle that academia is famous for. Well, okay, maybe not! But those pink tutu nights with the university ballet club were truly magical! My first foray into the world of drag came during a charity fundraiser, a little scared, but buzzing with energy. When I saw myself, draped in pink tutu magic, I knew my life was forever changed!

So, there I was in Bishop Auckland, not a lab coat in sight. In fact, all I had was pink tutus!

Performing that night was an absolute joy! From the moment I stepped onto the stage, the energy of the crowd was electric. People were cheering, dancing, and shouting for more pink tutus, which, honestly, what’s not to love about that? After the show, there were people waiting for pictures, sharing stories, and it felt as if we’d been part of a fabulous family for the evening. That, my dears, is what makes all this effort truly worth it!

That’s the thing about this life - it’s all about connection. Creating a safe space, sharing a bit of joy, and spreading some glitter wherever I go. You see, my dream isn’t just about pink tutus, it’s about helping everyone discover their inner sparkle and dance through life with a bit of confidence! That’s what keeps me going.

And now, Bishop Auckland, I'm off to my next destination. Where it will be, well that’s top secret! But if you want to follow along on this fabulous journey, make sure to head to www.pink-tutu.com You never know where Pink Tutu Sparkles will pop up next.

Love, sparkle, and tutus,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
