Broadstairs Calling: A Pink Tutu Adventure!

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing blogger, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another sparkling blog post, this time from the lovely seaside town of Broadstairs!

This is blog post number 258, and let me tell you, this journey was a total whirlwind of fun, sunshine, and (you guessed it!) pink tutus! Now, as you all know, my mission in life is to spread the love and joy of tutus – pink tutus in particular! And where better to do that than by the seaside?

I know what you're thinking, “Pink Tutu Sparkles, seaside? Isn't that a bit… basic?” Oh darlings, you just don’t get it! A seaside town offers a canvas for fabulousness! I'm talking sand, waves, seagulls, and yes, even those slightly dodgy souvenir shops. Imagine a seaside promenade where every shop has a little Pink Tutu Sparkles boutique! Just a dream!

So, how did I even get to Broadstairs? Let's just say a bit of drag magic, a few friendly faces, and a generous portion of seaside charm did the trick! This time I actually decided to ride the rails in style. The train ride was absolutely divine, I felt like a proper Victorian lady (well, a slightly flamboyant Victorian lady). I just adore that classic elegance you find on a steam engine, you know, the whizzing and chugging of a good old-fashioned train, the smell of coal and a hint of vanilla from those little packs they give you!

Now, let's get into the juicy details. I landed in Broadstairs, suitcase overflowing with sequins, feathers, and, of course, more tutus than you can shake a feather boa at. As soon as I stepped out onto that sun-kissed promenade, I felt the excitement bubble. This was my kingdom for the day.

Firstly, the shopping, my darlings! It was like a vintage fashion show exploded in a shop window, which meant finding my kind of delights, lots of vibrant colours, some floral print, some polka dots and a beautiful embroidered jacket – it was just fabulous! Not just fashion, but also yummy seafood shops (the smells are heaven), charming bookshops with piles of first editions, quirky antique shops and a plethora of local art. You can always find inspiration for your next stage look in Broadstairs, whether it’s a splash of seaside chic or something bolder that says "look at me, I’m here, I’m pink and I’m sparkling".

Then there were the sights and sounds! I swear I could feel the vibrant energy of this quaint town – those quaint cottages with beautiful, blooming flowerboxes, the gentle murmur of the sea, the playful squawking of seagulls… It all made me want to shimmy, twirl, and sashay, all while wearing my favourite pink tutu. Which is precisely what I did, and I have photographic evidence! Don't you worry darlings, you'll see those pictures in the next blog post – you know, the one after this! I had the pleasure of performing my new act, ‘Pink Tutu Dreams’, to a group of excited and supportive kids. They were so lovely! Seeing the delight in their eyes was enough to make any queen melt!

The sea itself was truly a masterpiece. I know I might sound like I’m from another time, but the glistening blue water is an inspirational sight, and when it is combined with those iconic white cliffs – you have the very image of perfection. To give the experience that perfect blend of glam, I spent a wonderful day at the beach, the waves lapping at my perfectly manicured toes! The only thing missing was my own personal seaside cabaret stage for an impromptu performance!

I must admit I did a lot of strolling and gawking. A queen like me has to get her daily dose of sunshine. The prommenade is also pretty dazzling; the beautiful stone work makes you want to pause and look at every shop front and wonder what lies beyond its threshold. That evening, I finished the night at one of the quaint cafes, with an even more beautiful cup of tea. If that doesn’t say it all about a girl, nothing will.

Now, I know what you're thinking, “Pink Tutu Sparkles, a day in Broadstairs – that must be it? You didn't even go horse riding!" Oh, you think you can contain this queen to one day? I have a horse named ‘Sugar’ that loves nothing more than to pull a pink carriage around. For my last night in this delightful town, Sugar took me on a moonlight carriage ride. Let me tell you, the gentle sway of the carriage, the soft moonlight illuminating the sea, Sugar's gentle hooves on the cobblestone roads, and, of course, me looking resplendent in a pink tutu. It was absolutely magical!

Now, darling, it's time for me to say goodbye to this enchanting seaside town. I have a feeling this won't be my last visit, as I’ve made new friends and felt some great inspiration for future pink tutu adventures. Until next time darlings, be sure to wear your brightest colours and remember, "Tutus are not just for princesses, they are for queens like me!"
