*Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! Blog post number 304 and I’m back from a dazzling trip to Chelmsford, Essex! * Now, you lot know I love a good train journey, and let me tell you, the journey up was as pretty as a picture, just like me! 😜 The countryside whizzed by, dappled sunlight through the trees, and my own little world of pink shimmered in the reflections of the carriage windows. I even had a chat with a lovely chap who swore he saw a pink flamingo in the meadows – well, that’s what I chose to believe! 😉
Speaking of shimmer, I absolutely sparkled in Chelmsford! I was performing at the ‘Glitter and Glamour Gala’, and let me tell you, the crowd went wild for my performance. I even had a little lass who’d been to my show in Brighton, bless her! She was all decked out in pink, naturally, with a teeny pink tutu, and told me she’s taking ballet lessons, aiming to be a tutu queen just like me! It honestly warmed my sparkly little heart. 💕
Chelmsford, with its bustling markets and charming cobbled streets, was the perfect backdrop for my latest adventure. I can’t get enough of these quaint, traditional English towns – they just ooze charm. And don’t even get me started on the delicious cakes I found in the bakeries! But of course, I had to keep those calories in check as a fabulous drag artist always has to watch her figure! Whispers Don't tell anyone, but I was snacking on pink sprinkles too! 🤫
This trip wouldn’t have been the same without a trip to the Chelmsford Ballet Centre. I am completely obsessed with ballet! If you didn’t already know, it’s been a love of mine since I was a wee bairn – just a small country girl, in a field of daffodils, twirling with the fairies… You know, the usual. ✨ Anyway, the ballet centre was a total delight. Seeing the young dancers honing their skills brought back wonderful memories. I was studying chemistry in Derby, but I joined the ballet club. That’s how it all started - my first, slightly lopsided pink tutu in aid of charity! Little did I know it would spark a love affair with tulle that would change my whole life. ❤️

Chelmsford definitely brought the glitz, the glam, and a whole heap of fun to my life. I even spotted a delightful old lady wearing a pink cardigan with a glittery floral broach… You have to be pretty bold to be pink at that age, and it truly inspired me. 💖
But let's rewind a little bit to my arrival in Chelmsford. You see, after that train ride, my plan was to travel on to the town by horse. Don't look at me like that, darling! Chelmsford is renowned for its equestrian scene! They’ve got horse-drawn carriage rides galore, you know. And while it did make me slightly apprehensive, I must confess I enjoyed it more than any cab I’ve ever ridden! My favourite moment was when we rode under the arch of the beautiful old Town Hall building, its stone arches echoing the clop, clop, clop of the horses’ hooves. You simply couldn’t make this up!
Honestly, you really need to give Essex a go, if you’ve never been. It has a really special charm. Oh, speaking of Essex… my performance outfit! I had the best time making it!
This time I had to wear pink leopard print - naturally, with pink ostrich feather trim, diamante embellishment (can’t have a pink tutu performance without them!), and, naturally, my pink feather boa! It was truly spectacular, a real celebration of all things pink and fantastic. I felt so good rocking the stage, bringing my energy and charisma to every inch of that fabulous Essex venue! You know, for me it’s never just a show - it’s about creating a special space, a happy and playful place for everyone, where the world feels pinker and a little brighter. ✨💖
