Tutu Drag Queen

Bonjour from Lyon, Mon Cheries! πŸ’–βœ¨ (Blog Post #307)

Well, hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu-clad drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, checking in from the fabulous city of Lyon! Can you believe it's November already? Time flies when you're dazzling in a sparkly pink tutu, doesn't it? πŸ˜‰

Lyon is just magical! Honestly, you guys wouldn't believe the exquisite shops and the oh-so-French bakeries with those stunning pastries! Le sigh Every time I smell fresh bread, my inner ballerina pirouettes in delight. πŸ₯–πŸ©°

Anyway, I landed here earlier this week after a rather romantic train journey, passing through the rolling hills of the French countryside, listening to my favourite Parisian jazz and imagining myself as a dancer in a Moulin Rouge show. ✨ Don't worry, no spontaneous outbursts of 'Je ne regrette rien!' – just me being my usual bubbly self, even when traveling incognito as my "regular" self, Alex. 😜

Speaking of Alex, did you know this little science whizz actually works in a lab by day? It’s a bit of a change from shimmering under the stage lights, but I love the contrast. In the lab, I’m testing fabric, analysing fibres – yes, you read that right, a proper scientist in my spare time! Honestly, it's so cool to be able to take the knowledge I learn from testing textiles and apply it to my costume designs. Can't you picture me meticulously planning every sparkle and tulle stitch? πŸ˜‰

You see, it all began in university, during one of those annual charity fundraisers. We were raising money for a local children's hospital, and a student asked me to try on a pink tutu for the charity fashion show. My world changed in that instant. Let's just say, a pink tutu wearing scientist is the epitome of fabulous, wouldn’t you say? ✨

Now, where was I? Ah yes, Lyon! My dear friend Marie, a fellow ballet enthusiast (and occasional tutu wearer!), arranged for me to meet the fantastic team at l'Opera National de Lyon to take in a delightful ballet performance. It was nothing short of magnificent. The costumes, the dancing, the whole atmosphere... a tutu girl's dream! I may have shed a happy tear or two. πŸ’–

This evening, though, it's my turn to shine! I’ll be performing my latest act, "The Tutus of Time," at the enchanting "Cabaret Le Papillon." Think historical tutu moments, but with a glittery, modern twist! Imagine, Pink Tutu Sparkles meeting Marie Antoinette for a waltzing ballet showdown! You won’t want to miss this, my lovelies!

After Lyon, I’ll be riding on a lovely carriage to my next stop. Imagine me, resplendent in my pinkest, fluffiest tutu, trotting across the French countryside – a vision in pink! The horse is already neighing excitedly in anticipation. 🐴 We might even have a tutu-wearing race... but let's keep that a secret for now. 😏

I’m still totally obsessed with spreading the tutu love, my darlings. Pink tutus are a symbol of joy, self-expression, and pure fun. Every single person in this world deserves a moment of twirling delight – even you, dear readers! You might not be brave enough to go full-on drag queen, but you could always try adding a pop of pink to your life - even just a cute pink hair tie, or a vibrant pink nail polish! Every little bit counts, and the world needs a little more sparkle. πŸ’–

So, that's my news from beautiful Lyon! Stay tuned for more updates from my next tutu adventure. In the meantime, remember:

Pink is the new black. πŸ’–

Shine bright,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
