Boston Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes On The States! (Blog Post #357)

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad, sequin-studded diva, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, bringing you all the glitz and glam from my latest adventures! This time, I'm crossing the pond to the land of freedom and hot dogs ā€“ yes, Boston, I'm coming for you!

This is, as you all know, blog post number 357, and I just can't believe it's already December! I know some of you are thinking, ā€œAlex, it's nearly Christmas, shouldnā€™t you be focused on your Christmas shopping?ā€ To which I say, "Honey, Christmas shopping is just another form of performance art!ā€ I've been busy acquiring the most fabulous gifts for my friends and family, of course, but my festive spirit is all about the joy of giving, and what better gift to share with the world than the love of a pink tutu? šŸ˜‰

Speaking of festive cheer, I simply had to squeeze in a little pre-Christmas adventure to Boston. You see, dear readers, I'm a firm believer in taking life by the sparkly horns! I can't possibly resist a chance to explore new cities, spread the joy of the pink tutu, and of course, showcase my latest dazzling creations!

Now, how does one travel to the US? Well, you could take a plane, I suppose. But darling, this is Pink Tutu Sparkles we're talking about. The only way to arrive in Boston with an extra sprinkle of magic is, you guessed it, by train! My darling old friend, Lady Lucinda, loaned me her private carriage for the occasion (the horses were positively thrilled for the change of scenery!), and we embarked on a delightful cross-Atlantic journey. You should see the way I have her decked out in pink ribbon, you just know those horses are proud to be pulling the carriage for me. I did, of course, make sure the horses wore lovely pink tutus for the journey, but perhaps it was a tad impractical for long-distance travel, you never can get those pesky hay straws out of them.

When we finally reached the bustling streets of Boston, I couldn't resist a little spontaneous performance on the train platform. Those travellers certainly got a show they werenā€™t expecting!

"Oh my darling! Those Americans sure do love their pink tutus!" My very own Lady Lucinda had exclaimed as the applause echoed through the train station, ā€œWhy they seemed to go crazy over a simple little jig I threw at them, bless their hearts!"

This town really has a vibe that is as inspiring as my tutu collection, believe me. Boston is positively bursting with energy, filled with fascinating people and historic architecture that gives you chills. But let's not forget what we're here for! I have a little secretā€¦ you ready for it? Pink Tutu Sparkles has found a newā€¦ passion! And itā€™s not the love for pink, you canā€™t have more of that, butā€¦ it's all things American: apple pie, baseball, and yes, even... cheerleaders!

You know I just adore the colour pink and thatā€™s not changing, however my passion for ballet has brought me to embrace other forms of dance, with particular admiration for those lively American cheerleaders! They've got those pom poms, those jumps, and those megawatt smiles! Why, even I, the Queen of the Tutu, am tempted to grab a pom pom and join them for a dance-off! (And of course, Iā€™ll be wearing pink. Pink and red look amazing together. Just imagine it, pink tutus with those little red pompoms... fabulous! Just think of all the pictures I'll be taking!)

But you know I wouldn't be true to myself if I wasnā€™t incorporating those gorgeous ballet moves I know and love. Now, you might think a girl like me wouldn't be seen dead near a basketball court, but honey, I am an expert at breaking stereotypes, and you better believe Iā€™ll be putting my dance moves to the test at the local basketball court! Can you picture this: Pink Tutu Sparkles, pirouetting around the court while the crowd goes wild? My latest tutu features the Boston Celticsā€™ logo, all adorned in glitter, of course. Whoā€™s ready for some high-energy, pink tutu inspired courtside action? You just watch me turn those Celtics' games into a show! (Letā€™s just hope I donā€™t step on the ball... or get knocked out of my tutu... maybe I should add a few extra layers of padding to the under skirt just in case).

But first, it's off to Fenway Park! Oh, I just adore this historical place. That iconic green facade with the "Fenway" inscription is pure beauty! (My stylist assures me it's perfectly coordinated with my current emerald green glitter top, by the way. Can you even believe it?) The ballpark, with its green outfield and those grand stands, I have to say, they seem practically built for my tutu to take flight on stage, wellā€¦ maybe the outfield needs a little more sparkle. ( I just had to buy another tutu - pink, of course! This one features little red baseballs sprinkled all over the skirt.) But honey, have you ever seen a baseball bat in a pink tutu? Thatā€™s an outfit worth celebrating, and trust me, this pink tutu loving girl will make sure the crowd goes wild as I twirl, twirl, twirl my way across the field! I bet it will get them jumping to their feet and clapping along to the music...and letā€™s face it, wouldn't a pink tutu make those Red Sox look even better than ever?

While Iā€™m here in the States, you know I have to indulge in a little fashion shopping. Now, Boston's style is unique, let me tell you. Lots of quirky shops with vintage clothing, bohemian chic, and of course, an array of sparkling treasures to add to my growing tutu collection. A couple of those tutus are so exciting - pink, of course! My favourite new addition, oh, it's just a dream - this lovely beaded number! I canā€™t wait for all my followers on www.pink-tutu.com to see my fabulous fashion finds.

Now, my dear readers, I know what you're thinking. ā€œAlex, isnā€™t this trip costing you a fortune?ā€ Yes, you are right, but luckily I get to fund my adventures as a drag artist! Oh, itā€™s a good life for a girl like me, but don't think itā€™s all glitter and glamour. The life of a travelling drag artist is definitely hard work! Remember, behind this fabulously dazzling pink tutu, is Alex. You see, by day, Iā€™m your average scientist at a fabric testing laboratory. But when the day is done, and the work is behind me, Iā€™m all set to don the pink and sparkle like crazy!

Now, Boston might be miles away from Derbyshire, my little home in the UK, but no matter where I travel, my heart will always be where my roots lie, that is where I had my first real taste of a pink tutu. When I was studying my science degree at the university I joined the university ballet club and the dance teacher had us all try on tutus in order to raise money for charity - sheā€™s actually a very well-known ballerina, but shh, itā€™s our little secret. From that very moment, you could say my heart and mind were set. So if you see me somewhere, come say hi. Letā€™s just say this pink tutu loving girl will always have time for a chat - or even a dance!

Remember darlings, donā€™t be shy about embracing those fabulous colours! And who knows, maybe someday I will convince you to wear a pink tutu! I've already started planning my next trip, so be sure to check back soon to see where my little tutu and me go next! Until then, keep on sparkling and keep your eyes peeled for some fun and glamorous content over on www.pink-tutu.com!

Love,
Pink Tutu Sparkles (and, of course, Alex!)
