Stourbridge Sparkle!
Hello darlings! It's your Tutu Queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with you today, for blog post number 364, fresh from the shimmering streets of Stourbridge! As the old saying goes, 'Every cloud has a silver lining, and every train ride can be filled with sparkles!' And let me tell you, this trip was full of both.
You know how much I adore travelling by train! The clackity-clack, the window views, the chance to strike up a conversation with a fellow train enthusiast (I did, once, convince a gentleman on the 8:30 to Stourbridge to swap seats so he could get a better look at my sparkly pink tutu! ). Anyway, this trip to Stourbridge started with a perfectly timed journey from my hometown of Derby – just the right length of time for a cup of tea, a cheeky bit of gossip on the phone with my bestie, and of course, the opportunity for me to perfectly coordinate my pink tutu with my sparkly bag, my pink scarf and, oh my, let’s not forget those sparkly pink shoes! Every outing is an opportunity for the Pink Tutu Queen to spread the love and glitter, darling!
The day in Stourbridge started with a delightful stop at the most adorable vintage shop. The kind of place that could set a girl’s heart aflutter! All lace, sequins, and whispers of days gone by! I swear I almost tripped over a vintage silver clutch that shimmered like the stars! (And that’s not a surprise, dear readers! I think I once found a celestial body of my own… it came in the form of a giant sparkly pink tiara! And don’t get me started on the shoes!).
After I’d filled my pink tulle bag with the most dazzling of finds (that vintage silver clutch made its way home with me, needless to say! And for a very reasonable £15! – bargain!), I wandered into Stourbridge's stunning Market Place. There’s no better feeling in the world than walking around a buzzing town centre with a big smile on your face! You know, darling, one of those grins that makes every little detail – the old architecture, the cheery shop signs, and of course, the most delightful smell of freshly baked scones! (A stop at the local bakery was a must – I'm a firm believer in local shops! ).
Of course, every time I visit a new town I find a new place for a fantastic performance! So, darling, you won’t be surprised to hear that this trip involved a very glamorous appearance for my dear friend Susan’s charity event! (Yes, I have a lot of friends and I try to spread the love – but my Tutu has its favorites!). She runs an incredible little theatre, The Rose Theatre (so aptly named, you wouldn't believe the beautiful roses that were cascading down the walls, so full of blooms!), and this event was in support of a fantastic cause! I really love being able to share my performance and brighten up people’s lives. It truly is a privilege, darlings! And they had the best tea! (We have the same tea in Derby! It was lovely! And it reminded me of home, although I wouldn’t let the train station’s decor ever come near my sparkly little corner of the world! But don't get me started on the station coffee...).
What a fantastic way to end the day! It truly warmed my heart to see the smiles and laughter on the faces of all the people who came to the show, some of them wearing tutus too, of course! And to those of you who aren't in tutus yet - remember, I’m aiming to spread a bit of pink sparkle, one tutu at a time! Join me on my pink adventure – don’t worry, it’s very good for your soul.
And don’t forget, darlings! Find me online at www.pink-tutu.com every single day for my little daily dose of sparkle! Now, go forth and sparkle! You’ve got this!
And of course, don’t forget to let me know what you’re planning on wearing this weekend! You know you need your daily pink dose of magic, and there’s no better way to get that than with a little bit of sparkle!
Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo!
**(And my real name’s Alex - say hi! I might be at the local chemist or the local shop tomorrow! (It’s my day off! ) But just be warned, you might see a certain pink tutu flashing! )
