I'm here to say that even the most unexpected of places can hold a bit of magic – and Walkden was no exception! As a proud queen of tutus, it was a dream come true to arrive at my destination with a delightful "neigh" from a gentle giant, a trusty steed named "Sparkles" for this very special occasion! I truly believe there's nothing quite like a scenic horse-drawn carriage journey to bring a touch of regal elegance to a day, especially for a queen like myself! The wind in my hair, the gentle rhythm of the horse's hooves… pure enchantment!
Of course, the only appropriate attire for such a jaunt is, you guessed it, a magnificent pink tutu! You wouldn't catch this queen anywhere else, my dears. And what better place to wear it than Walkden? A hidden haven for all things beautiful, it truly embodies the kind of fairytale spirit that sets my soul ablaze!
And as a proper Queen, I love a bit of historical knowledge, especially when it’s intertwined with glamour. The town's history is quite a sight to behold. You know me, my dears, I simply adore stories of the past, especially when they involve noble titles and dramatic intrigue. Walkden boasts an intriguing past – think grand manor houses, bustling market towns, and tales of brave heroes! Did you know, my dears, the town was once home to the grand Peel Hall, owned by the Earls of Ellesmere? Truly magnificent!
And where there's a past, there’s also the present. Walkden’s vibrant charm lies in its present – a blend of bustling modern life and historic charm, just waiting to be explored. Did you know Walkden has the second largest shopping mall in the North West of England, boasting some fantastic vintage finds, ideal for my wardrobe? You know, I have an undeniable weakness for all things vintage, so, naturally, I had to spend a little time hunting for some dazzling treasures to add to my collection! Imagine the glee, finding a fabulous vintage dress hidden away in a dusty corner of a second-hand shop. It's truly like a treasure hunt, but instead of gold and diamonds, my dears, I hunt for fabulous vintage fabrics and sparkly sequins!
I am, after all, all about turning the mundane into magnificent. Every place deserves a splash of pink-tutu magic, and I am ready and eager to spread it! Speaking of magic, have you heard of the amazing Salford Arts Theatre, just a stone’s throw from Walkden? A sanctuary for talented performers – oh my dears, their passion truly radiates, and they embody the spirit of dramatic artistry in its most glorious form! The way they dance with a grace that makes every movement a symphony – divine! Imagine a tutu adorned with feathers and a dazzling spectacle of dance that moves the very heart of your being, truly magnificent! This kind of performance takes me right back to my first taste of the theatre, where my love for all things twirling and glittery began.
I still vividly remember my days at university, studying for a science degree and the thrill of discovering a world beyond my lab coat. I would spend hours lost in a world of colours, patterns, and intricate dances, surrounded by fellow lovers of the stage at our university ballet club. It was there, my dears, that I donned my very first tutu. We had an annual fundraiser for a local children's hospital, and one of my fellow club members, an incredibly talented dancer (oh my dear, she was magnificent! Sigh She really had a flair for the dramatic), convinced me to join her on stage. And guess what? It was the most liberating and exhilarating experience of my life! It was as if I finally found my true self, sparkling under the stage lights and embraced my love for a certain delightful colour, pink! From then on, I was forever smitten with the allure of the tutu – the way it spun, danced, and glided like a ballerina’s dream, whispering tales of enchanting femininity and grace.
Even though I had a "sciencey" background, that moment sparked a new kind of ambition within me – a longing to express myself in a way that transcended my ordinary existence. It was the beginning of a journey to create a new persona, to let my inner queen shine. That's when "Pink Tutu Sparkles" was born, a name born from that special experience and my undying love for pink and twirling skirts.
Now, let me tell you a secret, my dears! As "Pink Tutu Sparkles," my mission is to inspire every single person to embrace the magic within themselves. But also, I am driven to empower every soul out there to embrace their true colours, whether that’s wearing a vibrant shade of pink or discovering their own unique style, the one that makes them feel bold, confident, and radiant! After all, wearing a pink tutu is about celebrating your individuality and spreading the joy of dressing up and celebrating the world in style!

My days are spent as a "sciencey" lady in a lab, surrounded by all sorts of fabrics, textures, and colour gradients (imagine, being paid to play with colours and materials every day!). But at night, it’s showtime! I bring my dazzling, feminine, and sassy "Pink Tutu Sparkles" to life, bringing joy to anyone who has the pleasure of being captivated by the twirls of a queen!
Being a drag artist allows me to travel and share my love for tutus, my passion for performances, and a whole lot of glittery fun with every audience I encounter. From community halls to fairgrounds, from cosy theatres to bustling marketplaces – the "Pink Tutu Sparkles" stage is ready! Every new town, every new stage offers a new opportunity to spark a smile and spread joy, and my darling, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
