Today, I found myself whisked away to the charming town of Bicester, Oxfordshire. Now, if you haven't had the pleasure of experiencing this delightful little gem, let me tell you, it's like stepping into a postcard.
It's been a whirlwind week, as always. This week has been jam-packed with shows. I started off in Derby, where I dazzled a packed out bingo hall with my signature blend of glitz and grace. From there, I travelled to Northampton by horse, a first for me! Yes, you read that right, horse. I felt like a real fairytale princess riding through the rolling hills, complete with my sparkly pink tutu and my faithful steed, 'Sparkle'. Don't ask me what kind of horse, because I only know they're all beautiful. Sparkle was definitely a real stunner.
I made it to Northampton for a rather swanky event - I performed my "Dancing Queen" set in a giant marquee surrounded by some truly impressive gardens and fabulous folk! Northampton always gets my creative juices flowing, I think the Victorian history and the bustling streets give me inspiration.
But today, dear readers, I am here in the quaintest town, Bicester. I love coming here; it's such a sweet spot and you'd be surprised how many fab boutiques they have - just waiting for a pink tutu loving drag queen like myself! I swear, sometimes I'd much rather buy a dress than have a dinner!
You see, as I always say, a pink tutu makes life more delightful, and I truly believe that! Ever since that first day when I donned that sparkly tulle as a nervous university student, it’s been my aim to spread this gospel of pink tutus. Back then, I was simply Alex, a budding scientist, but there was something about that pink tutu that sparked a change within me, like a metamorphosis from a rather ordinary caterpillar into a glamorous butterfly. That moment felt truly transformative! I mean, just picture it: a shy scientist with dreams of pirouettes, finally finding her voice within a swirl of tulle and sequins! And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good twirl?
It was as though the tutu unlocked something deep inside me, unleashing a world of creativity and fun that I never knew existed. Of course, my scientific work is important, analysing fabric and discovering new textures – I mean, who knows, maybe one day I'll even invent the most amazing, luxurious, shimmery pink tutu fabric in the world. It will be called Tutu Sparkle, and every fashion designer in the world will have to get their hands on it, and they will just have to create outfits to go with it. My inner vision knows this is all in the future - just wait for it, darlings! But back to the pink tutu moment, this transformative experience wasn't just about dressing up, it was about celebrating self-expression and individuality, all within a whirlwind of sparkly pink delight.
So, Bicester, you see, you’re not just a pretty little town to me. You are a beacon of creativity, fashion, and fabulousness. My eyes are currently fixated on this delightful shop just around the corner. My intuition tells me it’s destined to hold an extra special pink tutu, one that screams my name. Imagine: tulle with a subtle iridescent sheen, layered over a frothy tulle skirt that's just begging to be twirled! I might have just discovered a new pink tutu obsession! I'm just going to head on in, say hello to the charming shopkeeper, and maybe try it on. I'll be sure to update you on my tutu discoveries later!
