Upminster: A Tutu-ful Day Out!

Hello darlings! Itā€™s your Pink Tutu Queen, back with another entry in the blog! Itā€™s post number 511, can you believe it?! We've been on such an adventure this year! Today we're heading out to Upminster, and boy oh boy, it's going to be a real Pink Tutu Sparkle day.

Upminster is calling to me for a little ballet extravaganza - the "Dancers Delight" event. This weekend, Iā€™ll be spinning, swirling, and glittering my way across the stage with my pink tulle wings for a double show! And letā€™s be real, with a stage name like mine, I could NOT say no! I just love Upminster! It's the perfect blend of charm and energy - I always get this amazing buzz from all the fab little shops and delis there! I know, I know - I could have simply travelled by car! But have you heard about this new cafe near the station called ā€œThe Flying Ballerina"?! They do the most amazing lavender tea cake you have ever tasted. It has been making all the local papers - and just so happens they were open this weekend. The icing on the cake?! They've promised me a stage spot in their cafe - maybe even a special tutu-themed performance! Who would have guessed? Upminster knows how to keep the magic of dance alive!

So, here's the deal, dolls. Upminster has this amazing park called Upminster Park! They even have their own miniature railway - I mean, have you ever seen anything so delightful?! I have the biggest soft spot for all things trains, ever since the day my grandpa took me on my very first ride - I was wearing a hot pink, sparkly tutu of course, it was a pretty wild day. I couldnā€™t resist - I have a little pre-show ritual of stepping out on that railway line, channeling that childhood wonder. Thereā€™s a big splash of childhood nostalgia - I always bring out my Pink Tutu Queen charm for these special little occasions - so naturally, this week I found the prettiest little pink polka dot sun hat with a matching pink ribbon to tie it under my chin! And just so happens it matched the perfect vintage pink tote bag I had just found on a little local trip to Derbyshire earlier this week.

A few days ago, I stopped off at a little town called Bakewell for a photoshoot for the Pink-Tutu.com website! It was such a beautiful location. They have a delicious tradition for tart baking that they have been running for over 400 years - and naturally they gave me my very own pink Bakewell tart, made especially with my own name in frosting. They promised to send me an online promo code with each delivery order for every ā€œBakewellā€ I would bring in as a performer at any venue I went to! And we all know how I feel about bakewells - so the entire bakewell is going straight into my special bag of tricks for my show! I am sure thereā€™ll be some cute locals that need a little encouragement to wear a pink tutu too! The trick, darlings, is to inspire them, just as I was inspired, to express their individual flair, no matter the color or size of tutu!

And what about the show? I am taking the audience on a musical tutu journey of sorts - it is after all what I do best. I will be wearing my vintage rose tutu - the one I discovered hidden away at the bottom of my grandmotherā€™s wardrobe while on my recent trip back to Derbyshire, you can read all about it on the blog (post number 507, my loves! You donā€™t want to miss out on that one!). It's an heirloom from my grandmother - the perfect splash of colour and flair for the "Dancers Delight" stage. Oh! Did I mention I have a little surprise planned? I found a brand new, sparkly, vintage pink headband at an antique market and a matching little bag - with this incredible fringed boa to finish off the look.

A little story about my vintage boa, darlings. My mom tells the funniest story about my dad, the darling man. My dad would wear it every time he saw the ballerina he had a crush on - he always wanted to join the ballet school, she was the prettiest, the tallest, and always in a fabulous, big, white tutu. The one with the sparkly frills - it just oozed magic and sophistication, I thought! My mum was convinced my father was wearing that boa in every class. I bet it wasnā€™t all about the ballet lessons - although it did give me the sweetest idea for a ballet performance. The vintage boa reminds me to embrace my heritage - just like a true ballerina, or maybe even a true drag queen. Just imagine! You have to check out my upcoming ballet themed performances - this boa is sure to be part of the act - after all, the boa is all about the magic of ballet in every way - the magic of transformation! It brings out my most beautiful inner pink tutu! And my favourite ballet shoe too, naturally - I could never do a ballet-themed performance without the matching little shoe.

So get your tickets and head down to Upminster. But make sure you do - wear a pink tutu! Letā€™s show the world how Upminster can be our very own little Pink Tutu paradise!

Catch you later darlings, Pink Tutu Queen, signing out.

Donā€™t forget to join us next week as we embark on the adventures of the Tutu Queen at the South Bank in London for another exciting, new blog entry. See you next week.
