York: Tutu Time in the City of Roses! 🌹💖

Hiya darlings! 👋 It's your fave Tutu Queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with you all, ready to take you on another sparkly adventure! This is post number 550, can you believe it? I'm so excited to share my latest trip with you all, this time, we're heading to the gorgeous city of York!

As usual, I was hopping on a train - I simply love the journey as much as the destination! It’s so relaxing and lets me get into the character for the evening's performance. My suitcase, of course, is bursting with all my latest tulle treasures. I just had to get myself a new pink sequined tutu from my favourite London boutique - the feather trim is just divine! 🤩

I have to say, York is simply breathtaking! The cobbled streets, the beautiful architecture, and of course, the iconic Minster. Everything here just whispers history. I spent the afternoon wandering the city centre, admiring the independent boutiques and antique shops - perfect for a little pink-hued shopping spree, of course!

Now, you all know how much I adore ballet, and I couldn't resist dropping in on a ballet class while I was in town. Those delicate pirouettes and graceful leaps are just so inspiring! I've even been taking ballet lessons for the past year. You know, to improve my twirls and kicks for my drag performances. Honestly, nothing feels quite as liberating as gliding across the dance floor in a perfectly pink tutu!

But my journey wasn't just about exploring the city and perfecting my pliés! As you all know, a tutu-filled trip isn't complete without a glamorous performance. I was invited to perform at a local fair in the evening, a fantastic event filled with friendly faces and a whole lot of smiles! As usual, I was bursting with excitement to bring some sparkly, joyful energy to the crowd.

It was a lovely mix of old and new tunes. I even sprinkled in a couple of classics - “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” went down a storm! There was even a little girl, bless her cotton socks, dressed in her own little tutu who came up and gave me a hug! Honestly, you'd have seen a grown drag queen cry!

It truly is a gift to be able to share the joy and magic of Pink Tutu Sparkles with so many people. Watching those faces light up as I take to the stage, well, it's simply heartwarming!

My day in York, of course, wouldn’t be complete without indulging in some local delights. I sampled the most decadent strawberry and clotted cream shortcake, followed by a hot cuppa in a cozy little cafe. Honestly, this place had such an abundance of tea rooms that I lost track! ☕️

As you all know, Pink Tutu Sparkles believes in spreading the pink tutu love! If I'm ever on the road near you, pop on down to one of my performances! It would be so much fun to meet some of my incredible readers. You can check out all of my upcoming events on www.pink-tutu.com! And, don’t forget to follow my daily updates on all my adventures and travels.

But before I go, I want to leave you with a little dose of Tutu-tude. Never be afraid to embrace your own sparkle, no matter how big or small! Be brave, be bold, and wear your pink tutus with pride! 💖✨

Until next time, darlings! 👋

Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖✨

*P.S. * My wonderful journey through York and the journey to get there are both inspired by a special memory I hold dear. When I was a wee lad (I'm a scientist in a lab, testing fabrics, by day - you know the drill!) studying at uni for my science degree I was in the university ballet club, trying on a tutu for a fundraising event. I knew at that moment I would be wearing a pink tutu all the time in the future! It’s crazy how a silly little tutu led to all of this – and to this amazing pink tutu life.
