Salford Calling! A Pink Tutu Adventure - Blog Post #567

Hello, my darling tutu-loving angels! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the vibrant city of Salford, a place that's as colourful and eclectic as a feather boa in a hurricane!

As you all know, I live for those whirlwind train journeys that whisk me off to exciting new destinations, and this trip to Salford was no exception. Now, you wouldn't catch me hopping on a bus, darling, or worse, taking a car (ugh, the traffic!) A train, especially one with comfy plush seats and panoramic views, is the only way to travel for this pink tutu queen.

Why, you ask, is Salford calling my name? Well, let's just say that the spirit of ballet is calling. You see, darling, I've been absolutely gagging for a visit to the magnificent Lowry Theatre. Did you know it's shaped like a giant ship, absolutely gorgeous! A perfect place to host a magnificent ballet production, and let me tell you, this performance had me absolutely enthralled.

The energy was electric, the costumes were a kaleidoscope of colours, and the dancers' grace left me speechless. And to think, I had a front row seat! Honestly, it was like watching a dream unfold right before my very eyes, I just about cried with joy!

But before I could indulge in the world of classic ballet, I knew I had to hit up the local markets. You see, darling, there's nothing quite like a vintage market to find some fabulous treasures. My motto is: If you want to wear it, you've got to find it!. And this market did not disappoint! I snagged the most exquisite pink feather boa you ever did see! The feather tips were practically bouncing with joy, they were just that magnificent. I knew the second I saw it that it was destined to adorn my next stage show.

Oh, and I mustn't forget the local shops! Salford's a haven for the discerning shopper! From charming boutiques overflowing with the latest trends, to independent shops with one-of-a-kind pieces, I was positively spoilt for choice. The only trouble, my dear, was deciding what to buy!

But here’s the truth, darling, I've already planned my outfit for this week’s performance. I'm thinking a stunning combination of bright pink tulle, a delicate lace bodice (that I snagged on my trip), and that feather boa I picked up in the market - guaranteed to turn heads and create a true showstopping spectacle! It's all about showcasing my love of ballet, of course, and of pink. And what's better than combining all three? I like to call it ‘ballet chic’ – the ultimate expression of my passion. Don't worry, I'll be posting photos of the finished look on www.pink-tutu.com later this week. I promise you, you won't want to miss it!

Speaking of posting, don’t forget to check out my social media pages - I've got loads of fun photos from Salford on Instagram and TikTok. Just search #PinkTutuSparkles. I'll be sure to give you all a little sneak peek into the life of this tutu queen on the go! It's always exciting sharing my experiences with all of you – you guys are the best, the most loyal, the most fabulous audience a girl could ask for!

I want you all to embrace your inner Pink Tutu Queen. Yes, you! Get yourself a fabulous pink tutu, a flamboyant wig (you know I love a wig!) and don’t be afraid to express yourself!

You know, when I first started out in drag, back when I was just a little university student studying for my science degree, I was incredibly shy. It wasn’t until my university ballet club held a fundraiser and I tried on my first ever pink tutu that I felt confident and beautiful, just being myself!

Being Pink Tutu Sparkles has made me feel so empowered! I am proud to share the stage, spreading joy and glitz with every performance!

That reminds me, darling, have I mentioned where I’ll be performing this week? This week I'm heading to a wonderful local festival, a veritable feast of fun and fabulousness, featuring musicians, artists and all sorts of enchanting entertainment! You know I'll be rocking that sparkly tutu and captivating the audience with my flamboyant routines, spreading joy and smiles wherever I go.

Keep your eyes peeled for updates and don't forget to check out www.pink-tutu.com!

Stay fabulous and remember, my loves, to live, love, and sparkle!

Lots of love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xx
