Hello my darling divas! 👋 It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another post, and it's a special one for you lovelies, because today is my 586th blog entry! Can you believe it? We've been sharing smiles and sequins together for so long, I almost feel like you're all part of my extended, glammed-up family. 🥰
But enough reminiscing! Today, I'm taking you on a whirlwind tour of Aylesbury. I haven't been here in years and I can't wait to see what this little town holds! It's been a rather chaotic week. Firstly, I spent three days judging a tutu-making competition at a children's summer festival in Nottingham. Let me tell you, some of those younguns had some serious design skills! 🤯 Secondly, I spent Tuesday in the lab. Yep, that's right, I juggle a scientist's life by day and my sparkly drag persona by night! You wouldn't think that fabrics and sequins go together, would you? But I love that it gives me a different perspective on the world. After all, both require creativity and a keen eye for detail!
And speaking of details, my Aylesbury outfit is simply to die for. 💅 Imagine this: a cloud of soft, pink tulle that practically demands a twirl (I swear it came with a built-in air current!) paired with a glittery, pink bodysuit that has all the right bits shimmering in the right places (you know me and my sparkle!). I topped it off with my signature pink fedora, which was absolutely the cherry on top. It was practically a living, breathing pink meringue. 💖
As for the travel, I had the absolute pleasure of a train journey to Aylesbury. There's nothing quite like gazing out the window while a good old-fashioned steam train chugs through the countryside. The countryside, you see, holds a special place in my heart, and its peaceful tranquility is a stark contrast to the shimmering frenzy that is my life! 😄 But hey, I love it all!
So, I arrive in Aylesbury all excited and ready to spread my pink magic, but first, it's time for a cuppa and a slice of Victoria sponge at a cute little cafe I found nestled near the market square. This, darling, is what I call a truly perfect start to any adventure!
Now, onto the Aylesbury experience, and boy, oh boy, is this town packed with entertainment! It was like a festival of talent! First up, I hit the theatre for a vibrant production of Swan Lake. I don't think I've ever seen so much pink in my life (and trust me, I've seen a lot)! 🩰 There was so much energy and emotion on the stage, I actually got a bit choked up! But those dancers - oh my - they were simply phenomenal! Then, it was on to the street fair. There were jugglers, acrobats, singers, dancers - the whole shebang! And my darling, you know Pink Tutu Sparkles can't resist a bit of entertainment! So, I put on my brightest smile, strutted out onto the stage, and proceeded to dazzle the audience with a whirlwind of sequins and pink-tastic fun. 🥰 I got to tell you, the children were absolutely delighted, but that's what happens when you combine tutus and laughter!
As the sun began to set, I found myself in a cosy pub with some local talent. The music was rocking and the atmosphere was just buzzing! You know I always say a little fun never hurt anybody. So I shimmied and danced and had a wonderful time making new friends!
Later that evening, we found a quirky little independent shop bursting with quirky, charming vintage clothing, I nearly did a full-on triple twirl. 👠 Let's just say, I may have been persuaded to add some gorgeous new sparkly, sparkly items to my collection... including an amazing pair of pink suede boots - perfect for all you girly girls out there who like to walk the line between sassy and sophisticated! But that's for another blog post.
