Today's blog is all about my recent trip to the magnificent town of Twickenham. It's been a whirlwind of fun, fabulously frilly adventures, and of course, loads of pink!
Blog Post No. 626: Adventures in Pink!
Oh, darling, this is a special one. I’ve reached the glorious milestone of 626 blog posts - how absolutely fabulous! To celebrate, let’s dive into the glitz and glamour of my Twickenham escapade. It’s no surprise that, after years of traveling the world by train, I opted for a good old fashioned carriage ride. I always love the opportunity to connect with our wonderful horse-powered friends – I found myself gushing over their velvety muzzles and silky manes. And the whole thing, a journey straight from a fairytale.
But before I take you on my travels, darling, let me take you through the steps of my outfit transformation. It was time for some seriously spectacular sequins! I started with a delightful baby pink, two-tier tutu, topped off with a pink lace crop top for a little something something. My fabulous hair, styled with a pink wig of course, featured a giant bow that almost resembled a full-sized pink tutu! And the finishing touch? Why, a sparkling pink sash adorned with rhinestones - absolutely fabulous, don't you think?
The journey itself was as glamorous as the outfit, the scenery gliding past a backdrop for my inner ballerina dreams! Twickenham truly embodies the romance of Britain. It felt like stepping into a classic novel! Once I reached my destination, I felt ready to paint the town pink, and boy, did I. I stumbled upon a charming market filled with all sorts of delightful, girly finds, perfect for a girl who loves all things pastel! From gorgeous hair flowers to hand-stitched pink scarves – a total feast for the eyes! I stocked up on all sorts of treats, for me and my fabulous tutu of course, because it's all about pampering yourself and showing your loved ones, right?
The main event for my Twickenham visit, darling, was none other than a showstopping performance at a local fair. The excitement started mounting when I spotted a giant pink bouncy castle in the middle of it all. Can you believe it, I'm not joking! I absolutely had to do a celebratory pirouette right under it - that's a TutuQueen approved way to make a statement, and trust me, I did!
As the sun started to dip below the horizon, the stage was all set, with shimmering lights and a backdrop full of magical, glittery decorations! My set, darling, was a real dream – lots of glittery stars and shimmering silver swirls! It was just begging for me to bust out some new moves!
And trust me, I didn't hold back. From my signature "Twinkle Twirl" to my newly choreographed “Pink Flamingo" routine (inspired by the vibrant flamingo I saw on the way to Twickenham – I love spotting beautiful creatures on my travels!), I made the crowd roar with delight. I always say, the audience reaction makes the journey truly worth it, darling, and their energy was incredible!
Of course, I had to find a good old fashioned, classic ice cream cone in celebration after! My favourite flavour, pistachio! It truly hits the spot, right? It was all a part of that sweet taste of triumph, as always.
Now darling, here comes the real magic of my day. Right before the last, enchanting act of the night, guess what? The adorable children in the audience surprised me with the most gorgeous gift I’ve ever received - a beautiful pink ballet dress! Now, tell me, who wouldn’t love to get a gift like that! It's just a sign that I'm making a real difference with my pink tutu crusade, you see, getting the world to love and twirl! It was absolutely overwhelming – I was choked with joy!
Later that night, after a magnificent buffet dinner with delicious vegetarian options – yes, a fellow animal lover - I collapsed onto the softest bed in the most spectacular, luxurious boutique hotel, complete with pink flamingo bathrobes. What a dream! It was a night for sweet, happy dreams.
This whole trip, darling, has reinforced that it’s all about living your truth, twirling around, and inspiring others to do the same. And that, my darling, is my favourite kind of pink tutu magic.
