Oh my goodness, darlings, I am absolutely bursting with excitement! This week's adventure has taken me to the lovely town of Sutton in Ashfield, a delightful spot with the most charming cobbled streets you've ever seen. I have always wanted to explore this lovely bit of Nottinghamshire, and I'm thrilled to report it truly lived up to my dreams!
As you all know, my favourite way to travel is by train, it gives me a chance to lose myself in a good book, and let's be honest, who wouldn't want a chance to flaunt this fabulous pink tutu? It was a beautiful journey with lush green fields whizzing past, making the perfect backdrop for my sparkly pink number, which I chose specifically for this occasion, because, well, I had to be all pink and twirly for the grand Sutton in Ashfield debut.
Pink Tutu Travels: Always A Glamorous Adventure
Once I arrived in Sutton in Ashfield, the excitement truly began. It's the kind of place that feels like a warm hug, and as a performer who lives and breathes to entertain, it was the perfect space for me to embrace a little magic.
My first stop had to be, naturally, a visit to the gorgeous local market. The colourful stalls, the fresh scents, and the buzzing chatter - it all just makes my heart flutter with excitement. Imagine my glee when I found a sweet little vintage shop nestled amongst the fruit and veg. I just knew they would have something perfect to add to my Pink Tutu Sparkles wardrobe! I snagged the most stunning antique silver earrings - you simply MUST see them when I share them on my Instagram later. It truly made my afternoon!
And of course, I'm always looking for the perfect opportunity to encourage others to embrace the tutu lifestyle! So, while I was browsing the market, I noticed a few lovely young ladies admiring the beautiful display of brightly coloured fabrics in a stall selling local craft materials. I saw my chance, and let me tell you, I couldn't resist the opportunity to gently nudge them in the right direction...
“Ooh, these colours are just beautiful!” I gushed, pulling out a fluffy pink tulle fabric from the pile. “They'd be perfect for... well, you know,” I winked playfully. The ladies chuckled nervously but seemed intrigued, and I encouraged them to buy a metre each to make their own "pink tutu dreams come true". You know me - gotta spread the love and a bit of pink magic whenever and wherever I can!
The Heart of Sutton in Ashfield
In the evening, the stage was set for my grand performance at a local club. I made sure to add a touch of Sutton in Ashfield flair to my Pink Tutu Sparkles act, you see I'm not afraid of a little local inspiration! It involved some fabulous footwork inspired by the classic Victorian houses lining the cobbled streets and a lively ballad dedicated to the local bakery, renowned for its legendary cherry cake. And of course, my act wouldn't be complete without a dazzling costume change, for which I selected a shimmering, pink, feathered creation - truly, it was a symphony of glitter and elegance!
My audience, the wonderful people of Sutton in Ashfield, were amazing. You see, darlings, the truly magical moments are when I get to interact with the crowd - seeing their smiles, hearing their laughter, knowing that I've brought a little sparkle and joy into their lives.

The Pink Tutu Sparkle: A Dream That Started In a Lab
Oh, but before I forget, you just gotta hear the story of how Pink Tutu Sparkles was born, It’s a true testament to the fact that anything is possible when you dare to dream and to step outside of your comfort zone, just like me and my beloved tutus!
You see, darlings, it all started back in Derbyshire when I was studying for my Science Degree at the University. I was absolutely captivated by the world of fabric - the colours, the textures, the way it drapes so elegantly. As a young and quite introverted university student, the only time I ever dared to be dramatic and "big" was during the university's annual charity dance. To raise funds for a local animal shelter, our university's ballet club put together a dance event. And there it was, my destiny was right in front of me - I was tasked with helping to pull together the costumes, and while everyone was sorting out their dresses and dance attire, my eyes landed on... a box full of beautiful pink tutus. And it was in that moment, everything changed. You see, dear darlings, those pink tutus magically whispered to me - they were the perfect combination of glitz and glam and the absolute embodiment of feminine empowerment, and of course, that magical, girly feeling was absolutely irresistible.
I can’t deny it - it was that spark that launched the rest of my journey - that sparked a fire in my soul, and since that very first tutu, my life was forever transformed! I discovered this new dimension to myself and embraced the opportunity to create something joyful. It was in that moment that my passion ignited.
While by day I'm a Scientist busy in my lab analyzing fabrics and studying the textures and resilience of textiles, by night I get to fully embrace my love of theatricality, beauty, and pink! I have been working on perfecting my craft for years - creating new looks, dazzling costumes, and crafting amazing dance moves and theatre routines. My goal is to take every stage by storm with Pink Tutu Sparkles!
But let's face it, this pink life doesn't stop at the stage, my dears! Pink is a feeling, it’s a joy that you carry in your heart, a burst of sunshine, a whisper of kindness, and of course, the unleashing of your inner diva!
