Carshalton Calling: A Pink Tutu Sparkles Adventure!

Pink Tutu Sparkles: Blog Post #741

Hello darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another fab-u-lous blog post! I hope this post finds you all in high spirits and, of course, rocking some fabulously fabulous outfits!

Today I'm taking you with me on a little trip to Carshalton. It's a beautiful little town, and frankly, you’ll all have to thank my horse, Stardust, for inspiring this journey.

As some of you might know, I've been in a bit of a travelling mood lately. Stardust is such a champ for taking me from Derbyshire to London and back, even with my extra-large pink-tutu-laden luggage! She truly is a gem - if she wasn't such a busy workhorse I'd dress her in pink and get her a little tutu for when we go on our evening performances together. Oh, but what are we talking about? - you all want to hear about my adventure in Carshalton!

Carrington House

Right, Carshalton - It was simply divine. A real gem of a town with so much to see and do. And the weather? Absolutely stunning. A bright, blue sky. Pure perfection for showing off my latest pink ensemble. A fabulous new, layered, fluffy pink tutu adorned with sparkling jewels, perfect for Carshalton. I love to accessorize my tutus – I call them Tutulicious Jewels - because they elevate a simple tutu into a magnificent, dazzling spectacle of fashion-forward frills and flounce!

For the first part of the day, I visited Carrington House. You know I love exploring historical buildings, and this manor house is seriously old. Talk about time-travelling, but instead of getting to go in a DeLorean, I rode Stardust there - quite a lot like a Time Machine really! Anyway, Carrington House has been there since the 16th Century and it’s full of history - It had me swooning! They even had a secret garden, so very English and pretty. I practically pirouetted into every nook and cranny! I know, I’m a little obsessed with those little spins! It’s almost as if my ballet class habit rubbed off on me – whoops, I mean “off” me.

The Shops in Carshalton

After a delightful lunch - the sandwiches there were to die for - I went for a bit of a mooch around the shops. Now, Carshalton is brimming with charming independent stores - all full of amazing finds. They say London is a place for every mood and pocket. But I am pretty sure you could find everything you needed to create a pink wonderland in this cute, sweet little town. Oh my word! I think I actually bought five pairs of pink gloves - just to see if I can mix up my pink ensemble repertoire a bit!

Pink Tutu’s Delight: The Carshalton High Street

Carshalton’s high street had the best market stalls you could imagine! It really made me think about doing a market stall of my own, as my "Pink Tutu Sparkles, Science Diva" shop-slash-ballet class doesn't get enough attention. But Stardust wouldn't be very keen on living at a market - it’s better to have an indoor shop for Stardust. The whole area just oozes with charisma and quirkiness, just like me! And you know me - I adore anything that’s a bit off-kilter - I wouldn't be where I am now if I wasn’t a bit off! The street also reminded me so much of those places that pop up in those fabulously fun British movies that have a great dose of romance in them – I swear, my mind was flooded with those heartwarming stories about London.

The bright colors, the fresh produce, and all those quirky independent shops - I think that’s where the real magic of Britain exists - especially when you spend an entire day being inspired by your surrounding environment. You'd think the local markets are full of my Pink Tutu Sparkle magic!

Stardust - Pink Tutu Sparkles’ Horse and Fashion Star

So, after an afternoon spent window shopping, Stardust and I headed towards a nearby pub – I had to grab myself a drink and a hearty meal! Stardust had a huge bucket of her favourite hay - but then we took a break from the crowds of Carshalton in a hidden area right by the River Wandle! If you find yourself exploring Carshalton, I suggest having a little picnic down by the river.

So, as always, darlings, it was another day well-spent, living my best pink-tutu-life in Carshalton. I had an absolute blast exploring everything the town has to offer, and even my horse, Stardust, had the best time. Just you wait – it's going to be so much fun when she wears the new tutu- inspired gear for her, I’m making for her.

More pink! More glitter! Pink Tutu Sparkles!

Before you all go out there, I’ve just one question for you! What are some of your favourite places to visit and explore? I’m going on another adventure soon, so I’m keen on suggestions. Share your favs in the comments, and let's continue to spread the pink-tutu-love everywhere we go!

Keep it sassy, keep it fabulous, and keep those tutus twirling!

A little more about the Pink Tutu Sparkles Blog.

Oh darlings, if you think this is your first time to encounter my Pink Tutu Sparkles blogs, do be sure to have a look around the rest of the www.pink-tutu.com website!

If you would like to know about my fabulous pink tutu journey, and the journey I went through to become the queen of tutus - I’d be more than happy to answer your questions and fill you in with the inspiring Pink Tutu Sparkles history - a tale for the ages! Let’s be honest, I can’t be a legend without my own history.

Pink Tutu Sparkles: The Drag Queen From Derbyshire!

Right, so now let’s talk about what makes me - the Pink Tutu Sparkles – so fabulous, so unique!

Tutu Queen – Science Diva - Alex?

The science lab, and the stage: It's my duality, my secret life.

Now, as you can tell by now - I am a queen who can wear a dazzling tiara AND handle complex lab experiments - so really, you could say I’m an absolute whizz.

Now, you’re thinking to yourself "how on Earth did she do it?", so let’s get right to it - my story!

My name’s Alex – that's my "normal" name, and when I'm not in my fabulous tutu attire, you'll find me busy in my lab. That's where my alter ego, the Pink Tutu Sparkles persona really took flight. My days were filled with beakers, lab coats, and all that scientific stuff - a completely different world to my evening life.

I actually discovered the wonder of the pink tutu during my university years in Derbyshire. To be more exact – my love story with pink tutus started at university in the Derbyshire town of Chesterfield. Now, that's something I’m actually very proud of - being a Derbyshire drag queen. Now, that is rare, and my family can vouch for it - because they actually haven't quite worked out that I'm actually their Derbyshire Drag Queen superstar yet, let’s be honest.

So, while my day was all about science, and the experiments to create those fabrics and polymers, my evenings were dedicated to fulfilling my lifelong love affair with all things pink, glittery, and tulle - and yes, with that’s the real beauty of being Pink Tutu Sparkles. I even joined the ballet club to fulfil that deep love for tutus. The moment that everything changed was the first time I ever wore a tutu.

I was a volunteer at a charity fundraiser for cancer awareness, and they wanted people to participate. Now, I will be brutally honest with you: It was a moment where I felt my life completely shift – It was quite literally an “aha!” moment for me. That’s when it really clicked, you see. I realised the sheer joy that the pink tutu brought me! It's actually very hard to describe the joy that a tulle-constructed pink tutu gives a girl (a.k.a Alex!) - I simply don't have enough words to capture its sheer joy!

You could say, I discovered the meaning of pink, tulle, sequins and joy – oh my! It made me realise that being on stage was my real calling. So, Pink Tutu Sparkles was born - with a flash, a swish of her fluffy tulle, and the glitter to shine brightly!

I believe that fashion can be a way of expressing yourself - especially with a little help from Pink Tutu Sparkles - a world where sequins are absolutely divine, the colour pink is fabulous and tutus can create the ultimate expression of your personality!

Now, there are a million places that I can recommend visiting for inspiration for those fashion outfits that could help you unlock that wonderful inner sparkle of fashion you’ve got hidden within you - let me know! I’m happy to help and I want to ensure you all can reach that same kind of joy that Pink Tutu Sparkles finds by putting on her tutus and spreading happiness to all the people who watch her dazzling on the stage,

Until next time – don't forget - it's never too late to live your best tutu-fied life!

Xoxoxo
