Westhoughton Calling: Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the North West!

Pink Tutu Sparkles Post Number 773

Hey darlings! Your favourite pink tutu-clad queen is back with another whirlwind adventure! I've been living my best life on the road lately, spreading a bit of pink sparkle and glitter wherever I go, and this week took me to the charming town of Westhoughton, nestled in the heart of the North West. Buckle up, lovelies, because this post is a kaleidoscope of glitter, tulle, and tons of twirling!

Remember when I told you about that time I tried on a tutu for a charity event while studying science at uni? Well, that single pink twirl changed my life forever. Turns out, pink tutus and I were meant to be! Now, I combine my love for science with my passion for all things sparkly and fabulous as Pink Tutu Sparkles. By day, I'm Alex, a scientist testing fabrics in a lab, but by night, I'm a pink tutu-wearing, glitter-bombing drag queen, ready to dazzle!

So, how did I get to Westhoughton? Why, by train, of course! You know me, I love a good train journey. I can’t say it was a super-fast train journey, but that was part of the fun – chattering to a sweet grandma, enjoying a spot of afternoon tea, people-watching from my window seat. The journey was almost as exciting as the show itself.

Oh, and the show! Oh darling, it was spectacular! My performance was at the fabulous Westhoughton Theatre, and I felt the love from the moment I stepped onto the stage. Those Westhoughton folks were just incredible – cheering, singing along, and just totally into my vibe!

Let’s get to the pink tutu magic that unfolded in Westhoughton: this time, my performance involved a mix of contemporary and classical dance. I channeled my inner swan in a beautiful white tutu for “Dying Swan,” which just blew the audience away! The sheer power and elegance of ballet combined with a dash of Pink Tutu Sparkles’ sass really gave everyone goosebumps.

Then, to mix things up, I had a little fun with some contemporary ballet. My choreography – let’s call it “Glitter in Motion,” darling – was all about expressing my joy and energy with an added layer of sparkle, of course! Imagine pink tutu, bright pink gloves, and lots of playful swirling. It’s practically impossible not to get lost in the sheer fun of it.

Speaking of sparkle, can we talk about the outfit? Let me tell you, darling, this was not your average drag look. We’re talking a dazzling pink tutu in a shade I call “cotton candy dreams,” with layers of tulle, fluffy boas, and bedazzled heels that practically sang “Helloooo Westhoughton!” Every outfit tells a story, you know.

This look was all about fun, embracing the pink life, and showcasing that pink tutus can rock any stage. Trust me, Westhoughton knew exactly what I was talking about! After the show, there were so many people rushing up to me saying they’d never seen anything like it, they’d never felt so inspired by a drag queen! It's so heartwarming, my darlings!

Now, what about those stunning Westhoughton venues I mentioned? Westhoughton is such a charming town with plenty of history. We went for a walk around the market square, and I snapped a few pictures, which are already uploaded to my www.pink-tutu.com blog - see those links at the bottom of the post!

The market was full of exciting stalls with crafts, gifts, and all sorts of goodies. You know, my weakness: shopping! I spotted this adorable handmade, pastel pink-fringed cardigan that I had to buy! The stall owner told me she even dyes some of her yarn with pink beetroot! How amazing is that?! I can’t wait to show you all how I style this beauty on my socials.

While in Westhoughton, we couldn't resist indulging in a little local fare. I’m telling you, there is no finer feeling than trying the local delicacies. This time, it was all about Westhoughton's famous Lancashire hotpot. A delicious, comforting, and warming dish with hearty ingredients, perfect for those crisp North West evenings. Oh, and for all you sweet-toothed darlings, they have amazing handmade cakes! We sampled one called "Pink Sprinkle Swirl” – you just can’t resist that, can you?! Of course, we celebrated with a cuppa as well. Tea, cake, pink tutus: just another perfect day in Pink Tutu Sparkle world!

Now, my darlings, as we bid farewell to this incredible trip, let me leave you with a bit of Pink Tutu Sparkles wisdom: you don't have to be a drag queen to wear a pink tutu! Embrace your inner sparkle and let your spirit shine through. Pink tutus aren't just for queens, darling. They are for everyone! Every twirl, every dance, every pink spark of joy – we are all a part of the Pink Tutu Universe.

Love, glitter, and endless twirls,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
