This time, my glitter-filled train journey took me to the enchanting town of Carlisle! Now, Carlisle might be known for its history and beautiful architecture, but let me tell you, this queen brought the glamour! ✨ From the moment I stepped off the train in my sequined, pink-feathered ensemble (I’ll give you a sneak peek of the outfit on the gram later!), I could feel the air buzzing with excitement. You see, darling, whenever I go somewhere new, I like to infuse the place with my own personal sparkle – and trust me, this queen’s sparkle is truly out of this world! 🌟
Tutu Tales in the Border City
I had planned to start my day with a lovely little visit to Carlisle’s stunning cathedral. I mean, how can a tutu-loving queen resist the beautiful stained glass windows and towering arches? I'd dreamt of posing for a fabulous photo op, draped in my tulle, beneath those lofty vaulted ceilings – tutu-licious, right?! But sometimes the fates have other plans for you! 🎭
I was almost there, just admiring a cute shop window full of adorable miniature pink ballet shoes (OMG, I need these in my life!), when suddenly a group of little kids popped out from the shop – dressed in little ballet tutus! They were practicing a little routine, clearly getting ready for a performance. The adorable bunch practically melted my heart, so of course, I had to join in. It turns out, Carlisle is home to the sweetest, most talented little ballerinas, and we spent the next hour practicing turns, jumps, and grand jetés (just a teeny tiny bit more gracefully than those darling kiddies!) 💕
It was such a heartwarming moment that, in the spirit of all things tutu, I completely forgot about the cathedral. I couldn't let those gorgeous pink tutus, perfectly placed against the stunning scenery of Carlisle, go unnoticed, so I popped on a little impromptu performance right there, under the bright blue sky! ☀️ You know I love a good street performance – those lucky bystanders got a dose of my pink magic that day, and it felt amazing to spread the joy of dance and colour. 💖
Carlisle's Culinary Delights: Food for the Soul (and Stomach!)
After our street-side ballet extravaganza, we headed for lunch – because who can be a dancing diva without fuelling up on deliciousness?! Carlisle truly surprised me with its abundance of yummy places to eat. I'm a firm believer that you can tell a lot about a place by its food, and Carlisle certainly passed the test with flying colours (pun absolutely intended! 🤣).
I chose a delightful little café tucked away in a charming back street. Everything was presented with such love and care - delicate pink rose petals sprinkled on the cakes, handmade pink macarons in the display, and even my tea came in a little pink porcelain teapot with a dainty pink rose design on it. My dear, the sugar was in a little silver dish with a delicate, glittering pink unicorn! (Just like I would do! 💖 )
After the most delectable lunch, it was time for the main event - my first foray into the Carlisle theatre scene. 🎭 I had the pleasure of performing at the stunning Carlisle Theatre, which just oozed with historical charm and theatrical grandeur. It was like stepping back in time, and it only added to the allure of the night.
The audience, full of vibrant, fun-loving individuals, were amazing. They totally loved my act! They danced and sang along, creating a real atmosphere of community and excitement. And the thing I loved most? So many people were sporting little touches of pink, inspired by yours truly, of course! I love seeing those flashes of pink in the audience - it's like a secret society of tutus spreading like wildfire! ✨
Tutu Tales: Sharing the Sparkly Joy
This Carlisle adventure has truly been one of my most memorable travels. It was an amazing experience to spread the joy of tutu and glitter with everyone, to encourage those sparks of self-expression and beauty.
