Dunstable Darlings! 💖✨ Post 945

Helloooo my fabulous followers! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, bringing you all the glitter and glamour straight from the heart of Dunstable! This, my darlings, is post number 945, so you know it's gonna be good!

Train Travel & Tutu Troubles

Today's journey was, as always, a total dream! I took the train, my preferred method of transportation – so much more romantic than those noisy, smelly buses. The train carriage was packed with families, and honestly, I think I made their day just by strutting in with my fabulously flamboyant self, complete with a pink tulle tutu and a head-turning feather boa!

Honestly, you wouldn't believe the drama I encountered getting on the train. The ticket barrier kept jamming! Just my luck, of course! Thankfully, the station attendant, bless his cotton socks, came rushing over to help. It turns out, the barrier wasn't playing fair - the fluffy tulle on my tutu kept getting caught on the sensor! A bit of a fashion faux pas, but luckily we got it sorted in the end! 😉

Dunstable Delight

Once I was finally aboard, I had to make sure I looked my best for my show this evening. The train journey gave me a good opportunity for a quick glam-up session. I touched up my makeup, powdered my nose, and carefully arranged my fabulous feather boa (seriously, this thing is like a walking feather boa with its own personality! It gets all the attention, but it’s worth it!)

Dunstable was buzzing with excitement, the air thick with anticipation for the annual summer fair! It's one of my absolute favourite places to perform, the people here are always so warm and welcoming. They truly appreciate the art of drag and love a bit of pink fluff. They have the best homemade cakes too – who knew the heart of England had such incredible baking talent?

Pink Tutu Paradise

Honestly, it felt like I had stepped into a pink-tutu wonderland! There were bouncy castles, fairground rides, face painting stalls (and honestly, who needs makeup when you have these amazing artists around?!), and even a special tea tent for the queens!

Speaking of tea, the fair had a delightful selection of dainty sandwiches, creamy scones with clotted cream, and delicious cakes! Honestly, I couldn’t resist a slice of Victoria sponge – I mean, it’s a tradition! It’s simply unthinkable to attend a British summer fair without a generous portion of Victoria sponge!

But honestly, my most memorable moment of the day was the moment I met little Molly. She was, no exaggeration, the most adorable child in the history of children. She must have been about four, her tiny face covered with rainbow glitter and she was clutching the most adorable teddy bear I’d ever seen (which just happened to be wearing a miniature pink tutu!) We had the most delightful chat about all things tutus, she told me all about her dreams of becoming a ballet dancer and it melted my heart!

That’s the thing about being Pink Tutu Sparkles – you never know who you’re going to meet, or how you can make someone’s day!

Ready To Sparkle!

Of course, this is all just a warm-up for the main event. Tonight I’m taking to the stage for my headline show, and you know what that means… more glitter, more fabulous outfits, and, of course, more pink tutus! I’ve got a special act prepared for you guys – I’m even using the iconic pink tutu that got me hooked on the whole tutu scene in the first place (you know, back when I was just plain old Alex studying for a science degree and had a chance encounter with a particularly sparkly, fluffy tutu at a university charity fundraiser – who knew I’d be wearing it on stage at a local fair years later!).

Anyway, gotta run. The hairspray is calling, the makeup bag needs unpacking, and my tutu needs fluffing! Don't forget to keep an eye out for all the juicy details of tonight’s show on this very blog tomorrow! Until then, stay sparkly, darlings!

Much love and fluffy tutus,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖✨
