Today, I’m blogging from the beautiful West Bridgford, a delightful little town that's just oozing with charm and character! Honestly, even the pigeons wear hats here, and that’s saying something, don’t you think? 😉
You know me, I'm always on the go, chasing glitter and spreading a little pink love wherever I go. This week, the call of the stage was strong, and a fabulous opportunity to perform at a delightful fair in the heart of West Bridgford was simply too good to resist! You wouldn't believe the fun I had! Imagine, a whole day filled with bouncy castles, fairground delights, and enough cotton candy to send you straight to a sugar-coma – it was a dream come true!
Before we get to the main event, I must tell you all about my journey to this beautiful little corner of the UK. Of course, I had to make an entrance befitting a Tutu Queen! Leaving the comfort of my Derbyshire home, I decided to make this a very special adventure and opted for a delightful trip by horse! Now, you might think I'm crazy (and you wouldn't be far wrong!), but let me tell you, trotting through the countryside, feeling the wind in my tulle and the sun on my face was truly magical!
Just imagine it: a breathtaking landscape filled with rolling hills and quaint villages, a majestic horse beneath me, and the gentle sway of my pink tutu in the breeze – a truly glamorous ride, my dears! I even met the sweetest old lady who offered me some freshly-baked apple crumble on my journey. I may be a science geek at heart, but you can't resist a good old-fashioned baked treat, can you?
Speaking of baked treats, have I mentioned the incredible food scene in West Bridgford? There’s everything from artisan bakeries with crusty bread to cafes with the most decadent afternoon teas – I indulged in a spot of cream tea and some mouth-watering homemade lemon curd scones (with clotted cream, of course!) and the whole experience was divine.
Now, onto the reason for my journey – the fair! You know me, I simply can't resist a good fairground, the bright lights, the excited shouts, the smell of hot dogs – oh, the memories! I spent hours weaving my way through the crowds, mesmerized by the dazzling spectacle. There were colourful rides that spun me higher than a flamingo on stilts, charming fortune tellers promising glimpses of my sparkly future (lots of pink, that's for sure!), and stalls filled with fascinating trinkets and delicious treats – what a treasure trove of fun!
Of course, no fair is complete without a spot of live entertainment, and let me tell you, West Bridgford delivered in style! I watched talented street performers, caught a dazzling ballet show (yes, a ballerina wearing pink…you simply must watch my Instagram for the photos!), and even had a chance to catch a heart-stopping theatrical performance. The night ended on a high, and you can bet I stole the show at the fair’s stage! There’s something truly magical about spreading joy through song, dance, and sparkle, and the crowd loved my set! Even the kids in the audience couldn’t resist the charm of a Pink Tutu Sparkles show!
