Broadstairs Sparkle: Post #1032
Oh darling! This past weekend was an absolute dream, filled with sparkling sea air, the sweetest seaside shops, andā¦ well, did I mention the tutus? Let me tell you all about it!
As you lovely lot know, I'm a woman who loves a good train journey. There's something so magical about gliding through the English countryside, watching the world go by in a blur of green fields and quaint little villages. This time, it was off to Broadstairs, Kent.
Now, letās get down to the essentials: outfit, naturally. You wouldnāt catch this queen stepping onto a train without something absolutely show-stopping. I decided on a pale pink, feathered, tiered tutu - just picture it: a whirlwind of fluff and sequins! I paired it with a silk blouse the color of the morning sky, a sparkly pink blazer, and of course, my signature pink sparkly heels. I don't even have to say the handbag matched, do I?
The journey itself was a complete joy. We passed through those adorable villages that look like they've been lifted straight out of a storybook. You canāt help but smile when youāre on a train like that, you feel like a character in a film, donāt you? I'd even packed some snacks: delicious pink and white frosted cupcakes! Oh, the joys!
Speaking of joy, did I mention my luggage? Oh darling, you should have seen the trolley! I went all out and bought a bright pink one, with diamantĆ©-studded wheels and little fluffy pom-poms on the handles! It was fabulous. Just picture me strutting down the train platform like a fashion icon. And don't even get me started on the sparkly suitcase tag with the name "Pink Tutu Sparkles" in shimmering rhinestones - just a bit extra? Absolutely, but itās who I am, after all!
But the journey itself was just the beginning, darlings! I was in Broadstairs to perform at the annual seaside fair - the Broadstairs Sea-Shanty and Sailor Festival - just for them. This time it was more about fun and celebration rather than competitions - you know I love a little competitive flair - so this time I brought out the fun!
Once I reached my little seaside haven, I quickly checked into a delightful boutique hotel with views overlooking the chalky white cliffs. And, naturally, they had pink curtains - so much divine!
Now, I was all set for my afternoon. Let me tell you, Broadstairs is utterly delightful! The shops were absolutely crammed with seaside souvenirs, and I bought enough seashell ornaments to fill my entire dressing room! (Seriously, is there ever such a thing as too many seashells? I donāt think so). And they even had a little bakery that sold a "Pink Tutu Sparkles" cupcake. Oh darling, you should have seen the little heart-shaped frosting! I almost shed a tear - it was such a special moment. Of course, I brought it back to my hotel room to eat in a tutu and watch āStrictlyā on tv while wearing my āI love Broadstairsā t-shirt. You just never know when you might get recognised on telly, so better to be prepared.
Speaking of tutusā¦ you already know the evening was dedicated to my love of sparkles and swirling fabrics. Now, you must imagine: the lights were low, the stage was set, and there I was, twirling and swirling under the starry night sky, with the salty sea breeze whispering secrets in my ears. Itās not all glitz and glamour in this world though - you see, while the evening had the promise of an amazing night, that day it decided to be the biggest deluge in months!
Luckily Iām a quick thinker, you all know that about me, and, since I don't do umbrellas or plastic ponchos - darling, no, they're far too mundane - I went with an impromptu, highly, high-drama solution to all the water. What does this Pink Tutu queen do when it rains? It puts a huge glittery plastic poncho on! And it has pink tutus printed all over it of course.
Let me tell you, my darling. I turned the rainstorm into an opportunity. A chance to spread the tutu-joy! Imagine: the wind blowing my shimmering poncho as I pirouetted, every sparkly fold cascading down like a pink waterfall.
And just for you, my dearest readers, hereās a tip for all you fabulous performers: it might not be your style, but never let the rain bring you down, make a bit of a fashion faux-pas for an unforgettable act!
Well, darlings, after all the tutu-mania, I had to get back on that train to my Derbyshire home and prepare for the big week ahead. You canāt get too excited just because you had the most wonderful night, there's a lab to get to. And there are far too many amazing things to see, too many stories to tell, so next time we'll talk about the lab! You all know how much I love my laboratory - thereās always something to explore! Until next time, remember - keep shining bright, my dears! And wear a tutu.
Lots of pink love,
Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxoxo
