Liverpool! Pink Tutu Sparkles Goes Dancing! 💖🩰✨
Post Number 1040!
Helloooo, darling dears! It's your fabulous Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the beautiful, historic city of Liverpool! I can't believe it's been a whole year since my last visit, how time flies when you're having fun! I've been on the road a lot this year, you see, travelling all across the country, spreading the pink tutu gospel to every town and village!
And I have to say, Liverpool never disappoints. The architecture is just breath-taking - all those lovely old buildings with their grand facades. Plus, there's just so much life and energy in this city.
Speaking of energy, have I told you about the latest trend that's taking the drag world by storm? "Tutu Street"! It's basically taking the best bits of ballet and drag and giving them a new, fabulous spin! Imagine elegant pirouettes combined with killer heels and some extra sparkles, then you'll get a good idea of the vibe. And trust me, it's totally magical. I was even thinking of making my own Tutu Street choreography. But more on that later...
Anyway, today's adventure all started with a journey by train, and you just can't beat that feeling of seeing the world go by from a comfortable carriage window. As usual, I went all out for my travel look - think a bright pink tutu, a gorgeous vintage hat (which I just knew would be perfect with this city's historic feel), a fluffy pink boa and a smattering of glitter! The other passengers were absolutely beaming with happiness, which honestly makes all the hard work worthwhile. Just try imagining everyone's smiles and happiness after seeing a pink tutu walking towards them on the train! Who doesn't love a bit of cheer, eh?
Now, the highlight of this trip was definitely the Ballet Performance at the Liverpool Empire. Oh, it was pure artistry and magic! We were treated to an absolutely incredible rendition of Swan Lake, with exquisite costumes and flawless performances that left me feeling inspired and mesmerised. It really showed the true magic of ballet – it was pure joy to witness!
And talking about magical, after the ballet I had a right laugh in the Royal Court Theatre's cafe! Honestly, there was something for everyone, from people talking theatre to those indulging in delicious cakes! I must admit, I indulged in a rather large piece of chocolate fudge cake – which, I must say, totally hit the spot. After the theatre I found this little shop that was chocca-block with the most adorable vintage tutus and they let me try them on for their window display – naturally! The shopkeeper, who was about as sassy and funny as they come, gave me the best compliment: she said, "you're the most perfect tutu queen this city has ever seen". Well, of course I knew that, darling dears, but it's always nice to hear it from others, isn't it?
Oh, and of course, there's no Liverpool trip without a visit to the fabulous Albert Dock. You could spend a whole week here and still not see everything. I adore this place! Every time I come it feels as if I'm in a vintage film – it's the perfect blend of modern and historic, you know? It’s great to soak up the atmosphere of one of the world's most recognised waterfronts! It’s quite the place for photography so of course, I had to take some snaps to share with you all.
It’s also the perfect spot for indulging in some retail therapy, and, after a long day of walking and gawping, I found myself wandering around the stores before I stopped for a proper, deliciously indulgent afternoon tea at a beautiful, grand old hotel. It was all lace doilies and potted plants. And let's be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way!
After all that indulgence, I was ready for a bit of action! I’ve always been a fan of horse riding so I took a little detour into the beautiful Merseyside countryside, which gave me the chance to find a lovely equestrian centre to go on a beautiful, relaxing ride. The countryside in this part of the UK really does leave me feeling totally relaxed.
I truly believe in the power of a well-timed horse ride. It's so grounding and soothing, and allows you to truly connect with nature – something we all need, especially in the craziness of modern life, don't you think?
As evening fell it was time for my grand finale! I was lucky enough to have been invited to perform at a fab little pub near the Dock! Let me tell you, the energy of that room was simply incredible. As always, my opening number was my "pink tutu tango", a choreography I’ve created especially for pubs like these - the reaction was electric, I felt like a rock star.
So, as the night wound down and the stage lights dimmed, I had a great conversation with a group of lovely people from the theatre school across the street - so, it sounds like I’ll be performing there sometime next year - so that’s something to look forward to.
Now, my dearest readers, this adventure has shown me once again how fabulous the world of drag really is. I encourage you to always wear your heart on your sleeve – and that includes your pink tutu, too, of course! I believe in celebrating individuality and self-expression. We are all uniquely beautiful!
I’ll see you soon for my next exciting escapade! Until then, remember: the world is a stage, darling, and we are all stars.
So, let’s all wear pink tutus and bring some joy to the world!
Yours in fabulousness,
Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖🩰✨
