Oxford, Oh Oxford! πŸ©°πŸ’–

Blog Post #1062

Hello darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back from another whirlwind adventure and ready to tell you all about it! Today's post is a little special because we're in the lovely, historic city of Oxford! It feels like a fairytale land here, with all the beautiful old buildings and charming little streets. I feel like I've stepped into a Jane Austen novel (though maybe with a slightly more sparkly twist πŸ˜‰).

The train ride in was simply divine! I took the slow scenic route and it was the perfect opportunity to get myself into the mood for this amazing trip. A bit of daydreaming, a spot of reading my latest ballet magazine (gotta keep those pointe shoes in shape!) and of course, an elaborate make-up application in the reflection of the carriage window. After all, even travelling requires a bit of a Pink Tutu Sparkle makeover!

My first stop in Oxford was a must for any self-respecting ballet enthusiast: a visit to the Oxford Playhouse. They had a stunning performance of The Nutcracker on, and I simply couldn't resist. Let me tell you, seeing that Sugar Plum Fairy twirling on stage made my own tutu itch to dance! I could practically feel the magic in the air.

Next up, a trip to a little vintage shop on the High Street that was just overflowing with beautiful fabrics and unique treasures. I managed to snag a gorgeous pink silk scarf for my next performance and even a pair of vintage ballet slippers for myself! I can already picture them with my latest tutu - a masterpiece of pink feathers and delicate tulle, just waiting for its big moment on stage.

Now, I wouldn't be true to my Pink Tutu Sparkle spirit if I didn't incorporate some serious sparkle into this trip! So, imagine my delight when I discovered a truly delightful bakery nestled down a side street. Their display of cakes was a veritable feast for the eyes, with swirling pink frosting, glittering sprinkles, and, of course, the pièce de résistance - a magnificent pink velvet cake, complete with edible sugar roses! It was so delicious, I almost forgot to capture a picture for the gram!

The next day, I got myself a little horse-drawn carriage ride through the city, feeling like a princess from a fairy tale (the only difference being my outfit was considerably more sparkly!). My trusty driver told me some fantastic stories about Oxford, from tales of old universities to whispered legends about secret societies - all the ingredients for a truly delightful adventure!

Later in the evening, I had the honour of performing my Pink Tutu Sparkle show in the most adorable little cabaret bar nestled in the heart of the city. The audience were absolute darlings! I could tell from their smiles and laughter that they were truly embracing the joy and wonder that only a pink tutu can bring. One sweet gentleman even tried to copy my signature "twirl and pose," with hilarious results! But you know what they say, darlings - every princess needs a valiant knight (and in this case, a very funny one)!

Speaking of knights, I have a very special surprise to share with you all: Next week, I'm heading to Stratford-upon-Avon! The home of Shakespeare himself! Yes, you read that right. I'll be giving a performance for the lovely theatre patrons of The Royal Shakespeare Company - a bit of a dream come true! I'm hoping to bring a little Pink Tutu Sparkle magic to Shakespeare's beloved plays. I can already see myself on stage, surrounded by historic theatre grandeur, radiating pure joy and whimsy!

But until then, remember to embrace the magic that is life, even when it's wrapped in a pink tutu! I can't wait to share my Stratford adventures with you next week, my lovelies. Stay fabulous and sparkly! πŸ’–βœ¨
