Hello darlings! It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and I am absolutely thrilled to be gracing the lovely city of Colchester with my presence, for the first time EVER! This is post number 1073 on www.pink-tutu.com - I just love bringing you my fabulous adventures every single day, it's just SO much fun! 💕
As a true aficionado of all things sparkly and pink, this trip was definitely something I’ve been dreaming about! My Essex besties had been raving about the vibrant energy of Colchester's streets and how wonderfully welcoming the folks are. And let me tell you, they weren't wrong! The second I stepped off the train (it’s all about train journeys for your girl, darling - gives me time to glam up!) I was already feeling the infectious enthusiasm, and of course, it wasn’t long before I spotted a few gorgeous tutus on the window displays – fabulous!
You know me, I can't resist a good fashion adventure. My bag was practically bursting with pink outfits (yes, even my luggage is pink, what can I say, it's a commitment!), ready for some serious retail therapy. And Colchester delivered in spades! I even found a charming vintage shop crammed with fabulous clothes - perfect for the retro vibe I've been obsessed with lately. Now, I wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu Sparkles without incorporating a little ballet into my travels, right? So, you can imagine my delight when I found out about the fabulous ballet classes at the Colchester Arts Centre. A chance to flex my pliés and arabesques in a beautiful, inspiring setting? Sign me up! The class itself was magical. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The instructor, darling, had the best, most encouraging attitude, making it easy for even this old tutu-clad newbie (don't be shy, just embrace that pink tutu, everyone!), to get in the swing of things. Afterwards, a little refreshment at the charming cafe with the other ballet bunnies - the perfect ending to a magical day!
You wouldn't believe what happened that evening! I was heading back to my charming B&B (oh, the beautiful rose-themed room they had for me! swoon) and BAM! I saw it! A giant sign declaring 'Tutu Tuesdays' at a local pub! My dear sweet heavens! Apparently, every Tuesday, it's all about tu-tuing it up for a fantastic night of cocktails and entertainment! A drag queen in a pink tutu can't possibly say 'no' to that, now can she? And let me tell you, darling, that night was fire. I've never seen a room full of such sparkly, beautiful humans, all living their best life in pink tutus, it was absolutely infectious! The energy was electric, the music was flawless and the drinks, well, they were absolutely delicious! 🍹 💖 I even got a chance to show off a few dance moves and bring my own brand of sparkle to the stage - and let me tell you, the applause was incredible!
Now, no trip to Essex is complete without a taste of the countryside, and boy, oh, boy, did we have a blast. My fab Essex besties (who, let's be honest, deserve their own blog posts! Such lovely souls!) took me on a wild horse ride through the stunning landscapes of the Constable Country - pure bliss! I've always had a passion for horses - their grace and beauty have always held a special place in my heart, so naturally, I had to get my pink tutu into the mix - we literally wore matching tutus and looked fabulous while we galloped through the rolling fields, haha! Talk about a memory that will never fade!
But alas, darling, even the most magical trips have to come to an end. I bid a tearful, pink-tutu filled farewell to my amazing Colchester besties, with promises to meet up soon for more pink tutu filled adventures, hopped onto the train back to Derbyshire. The scenery of Essex completely stole my heart, the beautiful towns and friendly people were a real joy to encounter! And of course, every experience is worth blogging about - that's my motto!
And you know what else I learned this week, dear ones? That sometimes the most wonderful experiences happen completely out of the blue! I was so obsessed with my original plans for the trip, that I nearly missed the fabulous, unexpected magic that this lovely town had to offer. And that, my dears, is a lesson we can all take to heart! Be open to unexpected beauty, embrace the magic that comes your way and always, always, always - wear a pink tutu.
