You know how much I adore exploring new places and bringing a little sparkle to every corner of the UK. This week, itās Salfordās turn to feel the magic of a Pink Tutu!
You can probably tell that Iāve been feeling extra flamboyant these days ā after all, my newest addition to the wardrobe, a shimmery fuchsia tutu, just arrived from Paris! I couldnāt resist showing it off for the folks in Salford.
Now, I know what you're thinking: āSalford? Really? Isn't it just a bit... grey?ā Oh honey, let me tell you! Thereās a vibrant scene brewing in this corner of Greater Manchester, and you better believe Pink Tutu Sparkles is at the heart of it. I actually got there by train (so stylish!) but the station itself was surprisingly stunning! The Art Deco architecture had me absolutely swooning - the perfect place to whip out my new sequined clutch and admire my fabulous reflection in the large windows.
Before heading to the show, I treated myself to a delightful spot of afternoon tea. Imagine! Finger sandwiches, delicate pastries, and lashings of English Breakfast tea served on the cutest vintage china in a cosy little tearoom, tucked away down a side street. It was absolutely divine, especially paired with my pink-hued sparkly nails! You just know Pink Tutu Sparkles always travels in style, even when I'm not on stage!
Speaking of the stage! You simply can't talk about Salford without mentioning their brilliant theatre scene. I had the honour of performing at the famous Lowry Centre! Imagine a building dedicated to all things artistic ā just right for this girl! It's a stunning piece of architecture, complete with amazing panoramic views over the Manchester skyline. Now that's a view worth dancing for!
The performance itself wasā¦ well, letās just say a resounding success. They loved my rendition of āIām Every Womanā, especially the bit where I threw in a couple of spins with my sparkly pink tutu! You'd have thought I was dancing for the Queen herself! I'm talking enthusiastic applause, heartfelt whistles, and even a few shouts of āEncore!ā from the delighted audience. That feeling, darlings, that's the feeling that keeps Pink Tutu Sparkles coming back for more. Itās just pure joy!
After my performance, I managed to squeeze in a quick visit to the famous Salford Museum & Art Gallery. Itās full of fascinating exhibits exploring the history and culture of the city and its surrounding area. I even found a rather striking textile exhibition! Can't you just imagine the inspiration that flowed from those historical tapestries and textiles? A fellow textiles aficionado, it's practically a sin that I wasnāt there more!
Of course, no visit to Salford is complete without a good old-fashioned stroll along the picturesque banks of the River Irwell. The canals are just lovely - so much more charming than those "ordinary" old roads! The riverfront views were truly spectacular, with its gentle waters mirroring the pastel hues of the sunset.
My heart is filled with such happiness after my weekend adventure in Salford. They truly embraced Pink Tutu Sparkles, even suggesting I return in the summer for their annual street performance festival ā it was the perfect opportunity to wear my new tutu in the sunshine! Oh, the joy of spreading a little sparkle wherever I go.
Speaking of spreading joy, do remember that pink tutus aren't just for show, darlings! It's an opportunity to embrace your inner child, let loose, and celebrate life's little moments of sparkle.
