Oh darlings! It’s your fave pink tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another blog post full of sequins, sparkle, and of course, Pink Tutues!
Today I'm shimmering into Fulham, a London neighbourhood buzzing with creativity and charm. This fabulous little spot has everything my girly heart desires: beautiful ballet performances, adorable boutique shops bursting with vintage treasures, and oh, did I mention the delightful cafés that just make you feel all warm and fuzzy?
As you know, I live for those twirling, leaping moments of joy ballet brings. And darling, Fulham’s ballet scene did not disappoint. My trip kicked off with a glorious evening at the fabulous Fulham Dance Studios. The air thrummed with excitement and anticipation as I settled into my front-row seat. This studio really is a gem. They have amazing dance classes from ballet to contemporary and even a bit of jazz for good measure!
Now, you'll know I'm obsessed with tutus. It's an almost spiritual thing for me. There’s something so magical about a tulle explosion of pink and shimmer. And oh honey, did they have some amazing ones! They're definitely a step up from the flimsy, floppy numbers you'll find in a shop, let me tell you. Imagine hand-sewn sequins and fluffy, flowing fabric that just begs you to take a twirl – truly an enchanting experience.
Let me just take a moment to say – this might sound super nerdy, but watching the ballerinas just do their thing gives me the feels, darling. All that grace, artistry, and emotion, channeled through each stunning movement. My soul simply soars with joy! And then the applause - clap, clap, clap. It just seals the deal on a fantastic night.
But ballet isn't the only thing on my Fulham to-do list, oh no! I'm always up for a little bit of retail therapy, and Fulham's high street was a total dream! Forget your boring, run-of-the-mill chain stores; Fulham's filled with little independent boutiques full of character, bursting with everything from retro dresses to designer finds, and every shade of pink imaginable. I found a stunning new pair of heels at the cutest little shop, which is so sparkly it's almost blinding. Honestly, it's hard to resist, I mean, how can you not give in to such glitter?
And no trip to London would be complete without a proper pit stop for tea and cake, wouldn't you agree? My journey wouldn't be complete without a charming little tea room, wouldn’t it? I tucked into a delicate slice of lemon meringue pie, all fluffy meringue and zingy citrus – a true taste of heaven, darlings!
Now, let's talk trains! (I can't not talk trains!) What can I say? The beauty of a railway journey is hard to beat! A journey by train through the heart of the British countryside, watching the rolling green hills fly by… divine! And let me tell you, this little pink queen enjoyed a fabulous trip on the Overground, feeling that familiar mix of nostalgia and anticipation as I chugged along.
But let’s not forget my other beloved method of travel - horseback! Now, I know it might not be the most common mode of transport these days, but Fulham's hidden gems don't stop there! Just a short ride from the bustle of Fulham, nestled amongst the greenery, there’s a stables just waiting to whisk you away. There's something so exhilarating and liberating about riding a magnificent steed – a moment to truly appreciate the freedom of being out in nature, feeling the wind in your hair and the horse's powerful energy.
Of course, you can't leave Fulham without a bit of glitz and glamour. As night fell, I headed out for an amazing drag show. The atmosphere crackled with energy and anticipation. Oh, the outfits! The makeup! And darling, let's just talk about the tutus… I was surrounded by my pink tutu-loving brethren, it was like a beautiful rainbow of fluffy tulle and feather boas – what could be better than that?!
Being in Fulham, I had to tell you about my amazing experiences, it just reminds me that I love traveling, spreading the message of pink tutus, and getting my groove on to music!
