Pink Tutu Sparkles Here, and Oh, It's SO Pink!
Hello my loves! Welcome back to www.pink-tutu.com! This is Pink Tutu Sparkles coming to you live from a hotel room, all set to bring the pinkest, glitziest show Edmonton has ever seen! It’s 7th January 2003, and you bet I’m channeling the vibrant energy of the new year! Today's post marks a milestone, number 1103 - that's over three years of daily posts, dedicated to spreading the glorious love of pink tutus, darling!
Oh my, where do I even start? This trip has been such a whirlwind of sparkle and joy! I’m actually getting the train to Edmonton – I just love train journeys! There's something so magical about watching the countryside zoom past while you sip a glass of champagne and contemplate the vastness of existence. Or maybe it's just the champagne talking! But truly, I find the whole journey, the anticipation, and the freedom of travel a delightful, glittering adventure in itself. And yes, you guessed it! I was, of course, decked out in the most flamboyant pink tutu imaginable - imagine a cascading swirl of silk tulle, pink as a sunset, adorned with iridescent sequins and topped with a crystal-encrusted tiara! I was a pink confection on wheels, making the journey unforgettable for myself, and likely the other passengers too. It’s hard not to turn heads, darling!
Edmonton itself has been a dream come true! It's all about the lights, the laughter, the sense of joy that infuses this whole city! I had the most brilliant time performing at the Edmonton Fringe Festival last night - the energy was electric, and the audience so very supportive. Honestly, these wonderful people absolutely devoured my set! I performed my signature number, "A Tutu Story," - it’s about following your dreams and believing in the magic of sparkles. I love how this song touches hearts. You know what? Seeing their smiles just filled me with so much joy. After the show, they all just kept saying “Wow, your tutu is simply divine!” Of course! The secret of a fabulous pink tutu? It's about confidence, darling. Believe me, you could wear the most fabulous pink tutu on the planet and it wouldn’t be a fraction as impactful as rocking it with absolute confidence. And of course, there was dancing. I had the whole crowd shimmying in the aisles, their voices raised in chorus with mine as I finished with a swirling, pink-tutu clad, grand finale! It was truly magical.
Today’s the perfect opportunity for me to finally check out Edmonton's fabulous Ballet Society – they’re performing Giselle and the buzz around town has been unbelievable! Who knew I'd find ballet's biggest fans right here in this amazing city? As I told you, I love the ballet. I love watching these amazing artists dance, all their passion and artistry, all on that wonderful stage. I even take classes - it’s great fun and great for fitness. But let's be honest, dear reader, nothing beats the sheer, glorious, unbridled fun of performing a showstopping pink tutu dance! My dance moves are my signature – you should see my fabulous arabesque in a shimmering pink tutu! It’s a move designed to set your heart racing and leave you longing for more.
Before I hit the stage this evening for my show at the fabulous "The Purple Owl" nightclub, let me tell you a little about why I started this whole pink tutu adventure, and what fuels my endless love of pink tutus. It all started while studying science in my lovely hometown of Derbyshire. You see, darling, my life isn't all glitter and feathers. I do actually spend some of my day working in a lab testing fabrics - you’ll be surprised to know there are science people who enjoy fashion and sparkly pink tutus! Who would have thought?
I’ll never forget the day I stumbled upon my pink tutu destiny - it was during a university fundraising event. My friends and I, clad in those typical charity fundraiser t-shirts and plastic crowns, were looking utterly pedestrian. But one look at the glittering array of vintage costumes, including that one, magnificent pink tutu, and my entire world changed! It was love at first sight. It was my colour! And since then, pink tutus have been my guiding star! There's just something magical, feminine, and empowering about a pink tutu, wouldn’t you agree?
Now, it’s almost time to transform! But first, a quick bite and a touch-up of blush for that radiant, "Pink Tutu Sparkles" glow. Oh, and perhaps a touch more sparkle on those fabulous earrings! Every evening, I say it out loud to myself before getting into my beautiful drag – “I'm a woman, I'm strong, I'm confident. I will embrace my fabulous pink tutu!” And do you know what? It works! It's amazing, that inner power, when you get the outfit just right and just stand in the light of your true self – like that magnificent pink tutu on stage.
Remember, it's always, always fabulous to believe in yourself! So, darling, channel your inner Pink Tutu Sparkles. Take a leap, dance it out, embrace that magnificent sparkle within! Who knows, maybe one day the whole world will be dancing in pink tutus! I, for one, am absolutely living for it!
