Scunthorpe, You Pinky Pinks! 💖

Blog Post #1107

Oh my darlings, what a week it’s been! I'm still buzzing from the fabulously fabulous time I had in Scunthorpe. You know I love a good adventure, and a train journey is always such a delight! I always manage to chat up the fellow travellers on the train – I like to think I bring a bit of sparkle to even the dullest commute. After all, life’s too short to be boring, isn’t it?

Scunthorpe wasn’t a destination I'd planned on visiting, but I'm so glad I ended up there! The gig at The Playhouse was an absolute riot – the crowd was fantastic and they really got into my routine! You’d never guess, but they've got a real knack for embracing a little bit of sparkle in their lives – you should’ve seen them, absolutely living it up with their glittery boots and feather boas! It’s not every day you find a town with so much heart. And they totally made me feel welcome, from the second I stepped off the train (although, that might have been because they were curious about the giant, fluffy pink suitcase I was dragging along!).

So, how did Scunthorpe come to be part of my whirlwind journey? Well, the lovely people at The Playhouse contacted me about performing at a fundraising event. I knew as soon as I heard about the show – it had to be done. They wanted to raise money for the local ballet school, and how could I possibly refuse to help get more tiny tot tutus swirling around the stage? Those little ones are our future ballet stars, you know!

And it truly was an experience! When I say “performance” I mean full blown performance, darling! My opening number involved an army of tutu-clad children swirling around me in a gorgeous waltz. They were tiny little fairies come to life! It made me think about when I first put on my pink tutu – back then, it was all for charity, but now it’s something so much bigger. It’s about bringing joy, encouraging kindness, and showing the world that pink tutus can make the world a better place! And honestly, those tiny tutus in Scunthorpe absolutely melted my heart! You could tell they were absolutely thrilled to be onstage. Each and every one of them. Just thinking about those wee pink tutus on stage with me makes me grin ear to ear.

I even had time to pop in for a cheeky tea at a local cafe, the kind of place that makes you want to linger for hours and watch the world go by. I was surrounded by such lovely local people – chatting away about the weather, the town, and of course, pink tutus! It seems even in the most unexpected places, a pink tutu conversation can begin! I’m sure, if I had a pound for every person who asked about where they could find a tutu after the show… but the highlight for me? I stumbled upon this antique shop absolutely crammed full of sparkly costume jewellery and hats - just imagine, all the dazzling ensembles that were created in that tiny shop! My inner stylist just screamed in joy!

Before I left Scunthorpe, I just had to visit the famous Scunthorpe steelworks. Let me tell you, that was a truly impressive sight! I imagined the town’s history - the strength of those who built it, the ingenuity of those who powered the mighty steel mills, and even the dreams of the children wearing those tiny pink tutus. And wouldn’t you know it? That big, chunky steel works even seemed to twinkle with a hint of sparkle – or perhaps that was just me adding a little glitter to my mental image, like I always do.

By the end of my trip to Scunthorpe, I was so full of warmth, excitement, and sheer pinkness. You know I’m all about spreading that love, that joy, and the idea that everyone, and I mean everyone, can rock a pink tutu. In my opinion, there is no such thing as too much pink. We must keep fighting against the greyness, the bland, the ordinary! Embrace your individuality! If you’re ever feeling down, remember - all you need is a pink tutu, darling! And remember, even Scunthorpe, the home of steel, is embracing its pink side! Who’d have thought? I guess that's what makes my travels so rewarding. I truly can’t wait to see what sparkly, exciting destinations await!

And remember, my lovely pinkness seekers! Check out the new outfits I’ll be debuting in at the Nottingham Market on the 23rd! See you there for the latest fashion show – it’ll be as big and sparkly as a pink tutu can get!

Now, off I pop to finish this pink tutu, pink-themed recipe book for my fans. I just can't get enough of all things pink!

Catch you on the flip-side, darlings!
