Barnet, darling! #TutuQueen

Blog Post #1179

Ooh, la la! My lovelies, what a day it's been! My pink heart is practically bursting with excitement as I settle down to write to you all from the lovely town of Barnet.

Yes, Barnet! Who knew this charming corner of North London had so much to offer? (Well, I'm a big fan of any place that welcomes a TutuQueen, let me tell you!)

Now, this is a trip that was a long time coming. I'd been wanting to see the English National Ballet perform "The Sleeping Beauty" at the The Lowry in Salford, for ages. The story, the music, the costumes - pure magic! But the trip, dear readers, had to wait. See, yours truly was busy trying on (and quite possibly acquiring) the perfect new tutu for this momentous occasion!

Oh, don't think I just waltz into the ballet looking like a rainbow explosion in a tutu! It's a delicate art, finding the perfect combination of frill, sparkle, and colour for each performance. It's a balancing act, darlings! (You see? It all comes back to my scientific background - even my tutu-picking!)

But back to Barnet! We arrived in style, naturally. A jaunty ride on the trusty train, filled with chatty souls, all dressed up and ready for the weekend. It was almost enough to convince me to swap out my glittery bustier for a tweed jacket! Almost!

Once we reached Barnet, we did the only logical thing - took to the streets! I must tell you, Barnet's got some real charm. Quirky boutiques tucked into alleyways, bakeries that smelled of sunshine and cinnamon, and more than a few cafes where you could easily spend an entire day.

The perfect plan, don't you think? I mean, you have to keep a Queen fueled for an evening at the ballet, wouldn't you agree? Especially when you're in Barnet, and everyone is just dying to see a tutu strut its stuff!

Speaking of struts, have I mentioned my new balletic street-wear collection? Yes, darling! It's time to embrace the beautiful fusion of style and grace, that is, ballet-inspired street-wear! We're talking vibrant colours, feminine flair, and a touch of sparkle. You can find some gorgeous tutus - not just the traditional kind - on www.pink-tutu.com, along with plenty of sparkly fashion for everyone!

As for my little Barnet performance, it was just fabulous. Everyone was absolutely delightful - from the kindly baker who offered me a free cupcake (I think I ate his entire stock!), to the delighted onlookers at the street corner as I showed off my ballet moves! (And darling, I may have brought a slight shimmer to the local high street, just a touch! It is part of my mission, after all).

It seems even Barnet loves the pink! But more on the show tomorrow! You wouldn't believe what the English National Ballet did with "The Sleeping Beauty"!

Stay tuned, lovelies, until tomorrow.

Until then, remember to wear pink (and perhaps even a tutu!), because the world needs a touch of sparkly joy, darlings.

Love always, Your Pink Tutu Queen, Alex xx

P.S. Oh, did I tell you? There's a magnificent new ballet shop in Barnet, full of absolutely heavenly costumes, dance shoes, and sparkle. If you happen to find yourself there, do yourself a favor and pay it a visit. I promise you, you'll love it!
