Hey sweeties! 👋 It’s your Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the utterly delightful town of Kirkby, and oh my, this trip has been a dream! It’s all pink and sparkles and absolutely everything I adore! 💫
Now, you lovely lot know that Pink Tutu Sparkles never misses a chance to don her favourite garment: a glorious pink tutu. And, what better occasion for a grand tutu unveiling than a day trip to a new location? Kirkby was calling, and with my trusty steed ready to take me there (it’s a fabulous double decker train carriage this time - all red velvet seats and plenty of space for my luggage, which, let's be honest, is very important when you’re packing your full-on, sparkly stage outfits, honey!).
Speaking of sparkles, did I mention I just landed the most fabulous performance deal at a local charity event here? It's a fun, family-friendly day out, with bouncy castles, hot dogs and loads of kids – the perfect stage for this Pink Tutu Queen to unleash her sparkle-filled, joyous energy! Can’t wait to dazzle those tiny tots and show them what it means to be glamorous. ✨
But let's get back to Kirkby! Now, before you ask, darling, yes, this Kirkby is in fact the one everyone's been whispering about (just a little bit like my last trip to Harrogate, which was totally divine!). It's nestled right on the edge of some breathtaking rolling countryside, the kind that makes your heart sing just by looking at it. 🌿
And trust me, sweetie, there is no way I was going to miss a visit to the local bakery. I mean, with a name like “The Pink Peony,” it was literally destiny calling! 💖 I simply had to try their Pink Rose Bakewell tarts. And, my darlings, it was everything and more! Imagine layers of flaky pastry, creamy custard, topped with the most beautiful sugar-dusted pink rose you've ever seen. A true symphony of textures and flavours – and trust me, this little pink tutu queen knows her sweet treats!
And of course, I just had to find a shop full of the most magnificent pink, twirly things to make even Pink Tutu Sparkles herself weak at the knees. Imagine, my darlings, a veritable rainbow of satin, silk, tulle, and organza - oh, the colours were simply divine! I managed to pick up a beautiful coral feather boa and a couple of gorgeous glittery pink scarves that are perfect for a fabulous dance routine - I'm going to incorporate them into my signature 'Twirl-O-Rama' for Kirkby, watch this space! 😉
This visit has got me thinking… should I invest in a pink tutu specifically designed for each region? Imagine: a classic ‘Derbyshire Pink Tutu’ (it’d have lace, it'd have bows, and oh honey, it would be the pinnacle of chic), a 'Yorkshire Dazzle’ with its fabulous glitter and velvet detailing (my, oh my, that would be absolutely fabulous), and of course a 'Kirkby-Inspired Tutu’ with… perhaps a rose motif? The possibilities are simply endless! I need your help darlings! Tell me in the comments, which British region do you think deserves its own pink tutu design?
Now, my dear loves, as Pink Tutu Sparkles is always telling you, a proper queen never leaves a town without paying a little homage to the local cultural heritage. And, you guessed it! Kirkby's cultural hub was calling - a little theatre! 🎭 My, my, it was simply charming, all wooden floors and a delightfully grand stage. There's something about theatre that just takes me right back to my younger days, before all the glitz and glam. And as luck would have it, the community was staging a charming, little performance of “Sleeping Beauty.” 👸💖 Oh, the drama, the costumes, the passion! And yes, of course, I just had to dance my heart out in the aisles when I heard that lilting “Wake Up!” melody! You just know this little Pink Tutu Sparkles is always down for a good dance.
As I sip my pink bubble tea and catch a local bus back to the train station, I can't help but feel deeply grateful for these amazing little adventures, darling! I know that what makes each Pink Tutu Sparkles trip so special are all of you. Your support, your encouragement, and, dare I say it, the fantastic feedback you leave on my Pink Tutu blog! Every time I read those comments and see all the happy little pink tutu-loving faces out there, it truly makes my little tutu heart flutter! 🥰

As for me, I'm heading back to the lab for a couple of days, where my other life as Alex, the textile scientist extraordinaire awaits! It’s quite a surreal existence, really, darling. From whipping up incredible science formulas in a lab, to dazzling audiences as Pink Tutu Sparkles, it’s all just one grand adventure!
But, trust me, I’m definitely coming back to Kirkby, dearies. It’s going to be my pink paradise from now on. ✨
