Ashton: Tutu Travels Post 1186

Helloooo, darlings! Your Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to whisk you away on another fabulous adventure, and this time, we're venturing to the charming town of Ashton!

Oh, Ashton, you little gem! I just adore this place, it's like a delightful little time capsule tucked away in the countryside. As soon as I arrived, I felt like I was transported back to a more glamorous era. And the moment I saw those beautiful cobbled streets, I just had to twirl!

Speaking of twirling, I can't wait to tell you about the magnificent ballet show I saw here last night! "Swan Lake" performed by the Ashton Ballet Company, oh my dears, it was simply divine! Their costumes were just breath-taking, and those swans were simply gliding through the air like fluffy little angels. I even found myself swaying and tapping my little toes in the audience, quite a sight for my fellow theatergoers, I imagine, but darling, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, especially when the music is that enchanting.

My journey to Ashton, you ask? Well, darling, I hopped aboard a charming train carriage with plush velvet seats and lace curtains - just like a fairytale carriage, don't you think? Oh, the freedom of train travel! You see all those beautiful landscapes zip past, just a kaleidoscope of changing scenery. I did have to change into my trusty tutu as soon as I got off, I wasn't going to be seen rocking up to Ashton in just my boring old jeans, darling.

Speaking of jeans, now we must speak of SHOPPING! I've been making the rounds in Ashton's vintage stores, and they are divine. Imagine, a store overflowing with vintage hats and fur-trimmed boas? I even discovered a magnificent antique shop tucked away in a quiet corner that was filled with glorious gowns and glittering accessories. It was simply heavenly! And of course, I couldn't leave without a new, magnificent, pink feather boa to complete my Ashton outfit.

Now, you've got to know the little secret I'm about to tell you, darling: my heart actually beats a bit faster for Ashton. This town has a little magical sprinkle of my personality. Now, this isn't a boast, it's a confession. See, Ashton's history is entwined with fabrics and textile history - and there is just something divine about weaving a little bit of pink tutu into that heritage, you see. I feel a very strong sense of belonging when I'm here. Maybe it's the heritage mills? Maybe it's the beautiful scenery? Maybe it's the stunning pastel pink facades that pop up on many of Ashton's houses and buildings, I haven't figured it all out yet, but it definitely feels like I belong!

Did I tell you I went to see some local craftsfolk on the first day I arrived in Ashton? I do adore those charming workshops with their whirring spinning wheels and buzzing knitting needles. It's like peeking back into time, with these artists weaving their little magic - all in their pastel pink workshops too, of course. I could see myself opening up a little workshop here, teaching Ashton how to make and craft tutus in all their vibrant and colourful forms. You just wait and see what comes out of that one, I bet you I'll be the local tutu trendsetter before you know it!

The food here has been simply scrumptious! You wouldn't believe how many delightful little bakeries I've found hiding in Ashton's alleyways. They're crammed with all sorts of mouthwatering treats - pastries so perfectly golden, with those luscious, juicy fruit fillings! They reminded me so much of my grandma's bakery. You can probably guess by now that pink icing and sprinkles were involved too!

I was in my happy place while in Ashton and had the pleasure of a magnificent meal in the 'The Old Mill' pub - they're well known for their generous portions of traditional home-cooked food and a warm, friendly welcome. Of course, they didn't disappoint; a delicious pudding was the perfect end to a glorious day in Ashton. We sang and danced our way out, I even twirled in my pink tutu (a little discreetly - though not that discreetly as one lady tried to copy my moves and promptly tripped over her own feet - sigh, dear. The things I see!), while a merry tune played on the pub's antique piano. I felt like the happiest pink tutu in the entire universe, my heart filled to bursting with laughter, friendship, and a newfound love for this delightful town.

So, my lovely pink tutu devotees, I bid you farewell from Ashton. But don't think for a moment that this is the end of my adventures, dear! We're off to see what other enchanting corners of the world beckon to us next, and trust me, there's much more twirling, singing, and sharing of joy on the horizon!

Until next time, keep your pink tutu shining bright!
