Morley - A Tutu-ful Time in Yorkshire! (Post #1191)

Darling divas and fabulous friends, it’s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in from the lovely town of Morley! This beautiful Yorkshire gem has been twinkling with pink tutu magic all week, and you know your Queen just had to share the fabulousness.

A Ride On The Rails & A Pink Tutu Debut

I hopped on the train from Derbyshire, the rhythm of the rails practically calling out my name as I mentally rehearsed my latest dance routines (oh, you know me, always working those tutus). I swear, the very carriage seemed to know it was carrying a bona fide drag legend, all shimmering pink and glittery goodness.

My first stop was a charming little tea room in Morley. Now, the ladies who run it, bless their souls, just hadn't experienced the wonder of a pink tutu in person yet. It took them all of about five minutes to join me in my mission to "pinkify" the world, and a lovely lady even pulled out a hot pink cardigan for the perfect photoshoot. Trust me, this is what being a tutu influencer is all about: bringing joy and sparkle to the everyday!

Spinning Stories at The Morley Fair

From teacups to fairgrounds! The Morley Fair was my next conquest, and oh, it was absolutely brimming with fun. Think whirling rides, a vibrant atmosphere, and enough fluffy candy floss to satisfy a sugar craving for a week! Naturally, a dazzling drag performance is just what a lively fair needs, and I spun my stories of sparkle and self-expression with the help of some beautiful ballet moves (let's be honest, those tutus weren't just for show!)

One little girl, bless her cotton socks, just wouldn't leave my side, entranced by my pink tutu. She even told me her name was Princess Penelope, and that she dreamt of wearing a pink tutu herself one day. Now, how could I say no to a future queen of tutus? The lovely fair organiser kindly offered us a little space where Princess Penelope and I danced our hearts out, her infectious grin making it the most joyful part of my day.

An Evening Under the Stars

For a grand finale, I took to the stage at The Morley Theatre. Honestly, darling, the acoustics were incredible! You know a true performer can get away with a whole lot just based on a room’s natural resonance – and these walls were just screaming “Pink Tutu Sparkles”! It was a full-house affair, with everyone buzzing about the dazzlingly pink creation I was wearing. Even the elderly gentleman beside me, let’s just say he had an unexpected, delightful dance-off with a very sassy granny on the front row – talk about "breaking the mold"!

From Lab to Stage: A Balancing Act

Of course, as much as I adore spreading joy with my tutus, the science lab is where my day begins. You see, I’m not just a dazzling performer but a humble, scientific soul, testing fabric samples for those gorgeous outfits. Now, some might think this a bizarre combination, but darling, let me tell you, my knowledge of fabric blends comes in handy when choosing those dreamy, swishy tutus!

Keep Twirling and Shine On

And so ends my fantastic week in Morley! The energy was incredible, the laughter infectious, and the love for tutus just overflowing. The lesson? Don't be afraid to let your colours shine, whether it’s through a tutu, a science experiment, or a kind smile to a stranger. Remember, darling, life's about embracing those sparkly, joyous moments and sharing them with everyone. Until next time, keep twirling and shine on!

Yours always, Pink Tutu Sparkles (aka Alex)
