Middleton: A Pink Tutu Dream! 💖🩰✨ (Post #1193)

Hello, darlings! It’s your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another travel diary, this time straight from the charming town of Middleton! Now, Middleton might not be the first place that springs to mind when you think “fabulous” – but hold your horses, because it’s far from a yawn fest! 💖

I arrived in Middleton on the most delightful train journey, the windows all frosted with autumn leaves, and a cuppa steaming in my hand. Ah, the romance of train travel! My tulle and feathers had to stay well-wrapped in a suitcase, but let’s be honest, I never need an excuse to be in my best fancy frocks! 🥰

So, why Middleton, you ask? Well, dear reader, a sweet little venue called The Old Music Hall reached out – they’re staging a vintage vaudeville show, and of course, I jumped at the chance!

But first, some shopping! No trip is complete without a little retail therapy, especially when you’re a girl like me with a love for all things pink and frilly. The shops of Middleton were a veritable treasure trove – I picked up the most divine pink hat, topped with feathers like the wings of a flamingo, and a sequined clutch to match. Oh, the possibilities! 💖✨

Now, I have to admit, there are a lot of ‘ballet and tutu’ shows happening these days, so I always like to make sure I’m standing out. Not that my tutu collection ever needs too much more variety (don’t be daft, darlings – I have shelves and shelves dedicated to these fluffy delights!), but when you’re looking to take the stage, the outfits need to be extra sparkly! 😜

And let me tell you, Middleton is nothing short of delightful when it comes to getting your performance sparkle on! I found this amazing vintage costume shop, overflowing with sequins and feathers. It took all my willpower not to clear the whole shop out and set up a pink tutu palace on the spot! The shop owner, a woman who looked like she had stepped straight out of a Judy Garland film, promised me a real vintage dress to add to my performance wardrobe! I’m not telling you the details just yet – surprise! 🤫

With a fabulous wardrobe for my vaudeville show (and the show must go on!), I got to thinking – what’s the best way to travel to a performance? Horses? Or train? It's a tough decision! 😉 But in Middleton, the skies opened and sent a light sprinkle of rain, which called for a classic Middleton experience – the local cabbie! Now, this cabbie wasn't any old bloke – it was Wilbur! A true character who loves chatting about ballet, so obviously, we got along famously! You see, it’s these unexpected encounters that really make a journey. I tell you, darlings, the world is full of wonders when you have your eyes open. ✨

The vaudeville show at The Old Music Hall was… Well, you know how I feel about a bit of classic vaudeville! The crowds loved me, the music was lively, and everyone sang along with me during my set. The laughter of the audience, the lights bouncing off the sequins, and the air thick with applause… That's the magic of a good show, right there! ✨

But even though it’s so satisfying to take the stage, it’s the memories of a day that truly make a place special. A delicious pastry from the local bakery, the friendly shopkeepers who greeted me with “Ooh la la”, the chatter with the locals over a pint of cherry cider at the local pub (where I had the good fortune of teaching a few gentlemen some impromptu twirls!). Yes, Middleton truly holds a special place in my heart. 🥰

Of course, no trip is complete without a real ballet! The local theatre was presenting the classic Swan Lake – and it’s amazing how watching a timeless masterpiece never ceases to inspire, right? 😉 After the performance, I met the dancers – such graceful spirits! There was this one young woman, Lily, with an undeniable twinkle in her eyes… she loved my pink tutu. Of course, I took the time to give her a few twirling tips! 😉 The best thing? She was absolutely radiant and shared my love for all things pink! Maybe one day, this little darling will wear her own pink tutu! 🙏

And that, my loves, was my adventure in Middleton! What can I say? It’s clear that this small town, steeped in tradition, is an absolute gem. But as much as I love to travel, nothing beats home. Nothing beats my own personal haven, full of sparkle and pink, where the music never stops and dreams are always allowed to take flight! 💖✨

Until next time, remember, it’s never too late to let your inner sparkle shine! And for goodness sake, everyone put on a pink tutu! 😉

Your Pink Tutu Sparkles! 💋
