Bournville Babes and Ballet Bonanza: Post 1276!
Oh, my darlings! You simply won’t believe where your Pink Tutu Sparkles has been galavanting this week! The wind has taken me right down to the Midlands, specifically to the lovely town of Bournville. You know, home of the chocolate, the quaint streets, and – guess what? – the Bournville Ballet Academy! My lovely little tutu-obsessed heart couldn’t resist the opportunity to tap my way over there and share some sparkle with the local ballet-loving community.
This journey was a real hoot! I travelled by train, which is always such a glamorous affair for me. I was even lucky enough to snag a window seat with the most delightful view of the rolling countryside. I’d brought a travel book with me, but the scenery outside my window was so captivating that I ended up spending the whole trip mesmerised by the passing landscape. It’s always such a treat to watch the world go by – you really do get to see the true heart of England.
My train journey also afforded me a fantastic opportunity to catch up on all the latest gossip. I whipped out my trusty iPhone (it has the cutest pink cover you’ve ever seen, darling, a little sparkly number I found at Primark – it’s so cute!), and scrolled through my socials. You see, it’s not just my love of tutus that I want to spread, darling, it’s my love for connection! I need to know everything that’s happening in the world of sparkle, darling!
When I arrived in Bournville, I decided to indulge in a little pre-performance shopping therapy. The streets of this delightful town were absolutely bursting with independent boutiques and vintage shops – a true paradise for a fashion-loving drag queen! You simply must imagine the joyous cacophony of fabrics and colours. It was such a delight, my darling, it just makes your little drag-queen heart soar!
Of course, I just had to have a good rummage through the vintage shops to find a few little gems. I snagged a gorgeous, emerald green 1950s skirt, complete with the most adorable pleats, and a stunning cherry-red 1960s blouse – just think, my dears, that shade of red looks utterly magnificent against my signature pink! And I swear, I almost shrieked with joy when I discovered the perfect pair of pearl-adorned kitten heels hidden behind a pile of boxes. Those heels are destined for my next theatre performance!
After my shopping spree, I found myself feeling a little bit famished – a perfect excuse, of course, for a delicious afternoon tea! You know I'm all about finding the cutest tea room in every town I visit, darling, and this time was no exception. I stumbled across the most adorable spot – “The Pink Teapot.” Can you even? Talk about destiny! You know me, I just had to give them a taste of Pink Tutu Sparkles, with a dramatic, "My dearest friends, I am so very delighted to share this cuppa with you." I’m sure I got a few curious glances, but honestly, what’s more fun than making people smile?
My journey into the world of Bournville wouldn’t have been complete without visiting the Bournville Ballet Academy. As soon as I stepped into the studio, I felt a wave of pure joy. The scent of freshly polished floors, the sound of delicate footwork, and the graceful silhouettes of the dancers all just melted away any lingering tiredness. My darling, ballet truly is such a beautiful, graceful, elegant art form. And it is truly the most lovely and satisfying experience to inspire and spread a love of it through the sheer force of sparkle and positivity.
This week’s show was a real joy. I performed my signature piece: “Pink Paradise.” You see, I just love the vibrant energy of pink and I love being the queen of pink, dazzling and sparkling on stage. I also took a special request from the students, “Dance Like a Butterfly.” They were simply entranced by it! Such an honor, you know. They loved every movement and I swear they all were attempting the little twirl in their dancing shoes for the rest of the lesson. Honestly, their joy made my little pink heart swell!
So, if you ever find yourself in Bournville, do make sure you pop in to the Bournville Ballet Academy and give their fantastic classes a go! Or just stroll the charming streets and bask in the wonderful energy of this little town. Trust me, it’s the perfect place for a lovely walk, an adorable vintage shopping trip, or just to soak up the lovely atmosphere and indulge in a delectable piece of chocolate. But remember, darlings: don’t just admire the beauty of the town, embrace it.
And for those of you who don’t know… You know I am always encouraging everyone to find their inner Pink Tutu Sparkles and find ways to embrace life with open hearts and joyful spirit! So put on your favourite tutu, grab your brightest smile, and spread some sparkle with the world! Remember: tutus are magic. And magic is the best kind of fuel!
See you next time!
Love always,
