Hindley Hoorah! Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the North! (Blog Post #1288)
Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another adventure! Today's post is all about my latest journey, which took me all the way to Hindley in glorious, sunny, and slightly humid, Lancashire! Now, some of you might think that a queen like me would prefer a grand city like Manchester or Liverpool, but honestly, darlings, there's something about the charming quaintness of smaller towns that really gets my tutu twirling. And let me tell you, Hindley did not disappoint!
I arrived in style, of course, on a quaint little steam train. I mean, honestly, a queen like me can't be seen in anything less, can she? I popped my pink tutu on, you know, just in case there were paparazzi around, because darling, you never know when someone might be ready to snap a pic of this glamorous queen on her travels. (And yes, it is quite difficult to wear a tutu while also holding on for dear life in a tiny, bouncy carriage but let me tell you, it was worth it!). Once I landed, I had to do a quick outfit change at the station. You can't show up in a full-blown tutu look to any local town in England now, can you? Not without raising eyebrows! But honestly, I did manage to get away with wearing a lovely blush pink silk blouse and a little sparkly skirt! Oh, I have this magical silver belt which sparkles in the light too - a perfect travelling queen's accessory! I felt fab!
So, where was I? Oh, right, Hindley. So, let me tell you, this place was brimming with charm. From the friendly locals who greeted me with wide smiles to the quaint shops filled with adorable trinkets, I felt right at home. There's just something about small towns that makes you feel so welcoming. The highlight, darling, was definitely the local bakery! The most delightful scent of fresh bread, cakes, and pastries - I had to stop for a little treat! Oh, how could I resist? The pastries there were absolutely divine, and it just topped off a brilliant day!
Speaking of divine, I was performing at the lovely Hindley Community Centre. A lovely group of friendly folk who love nothing more than a sparkly queen performing in her best pink tutu! Honestly, you never know who is going to show up for one of your gigs. You could get one little granny enjoying your show in a pink dress while her granddaughter goes totally wild - or you could end up with 3 generations of a family all having a ball and wanting to join you for a dance!
Before you go saying, oh no, don’t drag that awful 1950s family routine on us again! Don’t you worry my darling. This little Hindley gig was way, way better. I ended up with a bunch of locals asking me about all my different outfits (which, let’s face it, in hindsight, is no mean feat. It must have been hard to keep up!), as well as loads of people chatting to me about what makes up the perfect pink tutu! I mean, honestly, some of those questions were totally off the wall. "Do you wear a special bra to give your chest a proper form under the tulle?" - you can imagine the answers I gave. But hey, let’s be real! When we are in a chatty mood, these questions can be brilliant, because honestly, the locals are lovely! You just have to be respectful, listen, and smile your heart out and try not to have a laugh inside. Because who are you going to be laughing at? A lady trying to find a use for a piece of scrap tulle. I mean, think of the opportunities, the endless fun that can be had when you take a trip down a lane you’ve never been down before. Who knew I was going to fall in love with all the quirky questions a little Lancashire town has to offer. The local church choir even showed up and all of us sang 'My Heart Will Go On' together in beautiful harmony. It really was quite something, and let me tell you, it felt so, so magical. You see? Even in the most unexpected of places, love and happiness shine through, and for me, it was the perfect example of why I travel around in my tutu - to connect with people, share smiles, and remind everyone that life is meant to be a bit sparkly and bright.
Now, my dear readers, I have a question for you. What do you do to spread happiness and joy in your own communities? What's your version of the pink tutu? Let me know in the comments below!
Speaking of pink tutus, I have a very special treat for you all! I know you are all wondering where my fabulously colourful pink tutus are all made. So, because I love you, and because you, my amazing readers, keep me going by loving my blogs every day, I’m going to give you the scoop - where they are made. You won't believe me, darling! So listen carefully and grab yourself a little treat from the local shop - a lovely, pink fizzy drink. Here goes... the special pink tutus come all the way from drum roll, darlings, drum roll, a place I never imagined you’d find them. I kid you not, they come from - you ready? another little drum roll - Birmingham! Yes! You're right, you wouldn’t think it. But it's true, it is one of those things you never quite imagine! They are made by the loveliest family who've been working with textiles for over 50 years, and, honestly, their creations are simply amazing!
Now, darling, remember the aim, I want everyone to wear a pink tutu. If you do it for a day, you’re part of the team. Now, you’ll probably be asking what that pink tutu is doing in my bedroom then? Let's face it, it's a special thing. Like your favourite childhood toy. Or that teddy bear you have sitting in the corner somewhere, I know it's there. It’s all about the story it tells! Don't judge! There’s just something so whimsical and fun about wearing a pink tutu. It just makes you feel extra special! Oh, darling, and you’ll find this bit very special, I can almost see you nodding in agreement: pink tutus make you smile, they remind you to embrace life's simple pleasures and, to never stop dancing!
That's all for now, my lovelies! Stay tuned for my next big adventure! I will tell you all about the best pink fluffy tutu that’s arrived, from the most wonderful shop.
Until next time!
Much Love,
Your Pink Tutu Queen xox
