Belfast: Pink Tutu Sparkles Goes Green (But Not Too Green)

Blog Post Number: 1302

Hey there, fabulous fam! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, checking in from the magical city of Belfast, Northern Ireland! It's just me and my trusty suitcase full of pink, of course - gotta keep those options open, and my new favourite hat - the kind you can adjust so you never get caught in the rain, oh the brilliance! Now I can't exactly say I've hit this corner of the Emerald Isle dressed for a garden party. We're going all out glamour tonight, but let's back up for a minute. How did Pink Tutu Sparkles get to Belfast, a journey not by plane but by boat?

Well, I couldn't resist the opportunity to see some traditional Irish dancers! And when you're Pink Tutu Sparkles, that means a trip to a theatre performance and of course a dance class to master the art. Remember those childhood memories of "Riverdance" on the telly? Let's just say this little ballerina couldn't resist, but even though I'm dancing all night, this isn't your average dance studio, folks. This is about learning how to dance like an actual Irish dancing pro, all swirling and clicking, you know, with proper shoes and the lot! Let's just say, it was more energetic than my usual ballerina stretches, and boy was I aching after those steps, especially my shins! I felt like I had a hundred legs doing a grand jeté, just pure fun and joy though. And how much can you pay for this experience? Why a grand total of five pounds! You'd be hard pressed to find better value in Derbyshire. And trust me, I have a very special relationship with those beautiful rolling green hills!

Speaking of Derbyshire... what a difference in climate, a full week in July and I've barely needed a jacket! Let's just say, "Northern Ireland" does have some magic about it. Even if my travel wardrobe included more tweed than usual, those bright pink and yellow combinations never looked so good - matching my vibrant personality! The journey here though, was certainly memorable, particularly when our ferry sailed alongside some enormous container ships - an almost comical scene in the scale of it. I was reminded how our journey to adventure has so many paths, both wide and narrow! We need to embrace every little detail!

But the best part about arriving in a new place has got to be the chance to meet fabulous folks who just love pink. A little shop called "Blossom and Bloom" was bursting with beautiful things that could have made any drag queen scream. Imagine rows upon rows of beautiful blooms, not to mention colourful scarves and headbands and yes, even pink tutus!

It is amazing to know I'm making it happen one tutu at a time, all these lovely ladies have embraced a piece of the Pink Tutu Sparkles spirit and maybe, just maybe, that bright pink tutu has encouraged them to embrace their own playful, sassy, colourful self!

Now, tonight we're taking to the stage at "The Crown Bar," a cosy, historic, little bar, so if you're reading this in Belfast - well, you know where to be! This fabulous old pub is over a century old and a great reminder of all that’s amazing in the heritage and creativity of the city.

The people here have been a real blast - there's a welcoming, fun-loving attitude here and I can see why Belfast's been making headlines for it's great music scene! Even those who haven’t got a pink tutu to wear (but really, why wouldn't you?) have been super sweet and welcoming. This little sparkly fairy will be posting some pics later tonight to www.pink-tutu.com , but for now, let's raise a toast, darlings! (Non-alcoholic for me tonight - gotta stay hydrated for those fancy dance steps)

So remember, wherever you are in the world - and especially you folks in the glorious Emerald Isle - remember to always wear your personality on your sleeve (and sometimes under your tutu, for maximum sparkle!). Until next time, babes, stay fabulous, and always keep on shining.

Xoxo Pink Tutu Sparkles
