Sale, My Lovelies! Post #1327: A Tutu-tiful Time in the North West!

Hello darlings! It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in live from the utterly charming town of Sale in the beautiful north west of England! Oh, how I adore discovering new places, and this one is truly a gem. As always, my darling pink tutu, my loyal companion, travelled with me on this grand adventure, her tulle billowing beautifully in the fresh northern breeze.

Now, I must confess, Sale was not initially on my travel itinerary. But, as always, fate, or perhaps the glitter gods themselves, had a different plan! While performing at a festival in the picturesque Cotswolds (you should have seen my "Fairest of Them All" drag routine - a masterpiece with an Elizabethan twist, I assure you), a sweet young lass spotted me after my show. With the biggest smile on her face, she told me all about this stunning theatre in Sale - The Lowry. Oh, how my inner ballerina's heart skipped a beat at the mention of it!

It seems they have this wonderful ballet series called "Dancing on the Edge" and guess what? They even offer a little peek behind the scenes after the performance. Can you imagine? Pink Tutu Sparkles meeting ballerinas? A dream come true! Now, as a lover of all things dance, particularly the ethereal beauty of ballet, this was an opportunity I couldn't possibly miss.

Of course, the real star of the show was Sale itself. This delightful little town has such a warm, welcoming energy. There are little shops overflowing with gorgeous blooms and boutiques showcasing unique and interesting creations. A vintage tea room serving homemade cakes was calling my name! (They even had a pink flamingo cake! How divine, is that not a perfect symbol for a Pink Tutu Sparkles day out?).

And the people! The people in Sale are utterly delightful. We had such a delightful conversation with this sweet lady in the antique shop, who, you wouldn't believe it, used to be a ballerina herself! (She still had some lovely ballet shoes she promised to donate to me after our delightful tea, so you know, there was some tulle-filled excitement for you all! giggles) And then there was this kind gentleman who was thrilled to hear that a fellow pink tutu lover was in town, and gave me the best directions to a beautiful park with a spectacular rose garden (a truly tutu-rific backdrop for some impromptu photos, if I do say so myself! Follow @PinkTutuSparkles on Insta for some exclusive shots! Don't worry my darlings, the whole shoot was meticulously planned so my fabulous tutu made the most of the sunshine!).

But back to the ballet. Now, I must confess, the Lowry theatre was like stepping into a different world. The decor was absolutely breathtaking, with artfully crafted displays and an air of understated elegance. But nothing could prepare me for the performance itself. "Dancing on the Edge" was a mesmerizing display of grace, athleticism and raw passion. Oh my darlings, the costumes! They were just exquisite, all shades of soft pink and lilac, with flowing chiffon and delicate tulle (I knew I'd be finding inspiration in my next couture collection!), and the choreography was absolutely spellbinding, a captivating combination of traditional technique and breathtaking contemporary moves.

And after the show, just like that lovely lady had promised, we were taken on a backstage tour. The dancers were all so welcoming and open about their experiences, and they were absolutely fascinated by my tulle. There was even a little ballet student there with a passion for pink tutus! The little darling was thrilled to meet me and, oh my goodness, you should have seen her face when I took off my tiara and gifted her a couple of my sparkly pins to decorate her own tutus! I have a feeling she might be a future Pink Tutu Sparkles, don't you?

My travels in Sale were nothing short of magical, an absolute testament to the joy and inspiration found in experiencing new places and embracing life's unexpected adventures. Oh, my dears, what are you waiting for? I urge you to take a journey to Sale, especially if you, like myself, find yourself smitten with the magical world of ballet. Or better yet, maybe it's a town you are already familiar with. You know what you must do! Dust off that pink tutu, get those tutus shimmering, grab a travel pass, or jump on a horse and go and enjoy the adventure, darling! The world is waiting, filled with opportunities to spread the tutu love!

Oh, one last thing. Remember my dream to get everyone in the world wearing a pink tutu? It is getting closer my dears! Today a lovely couple approached me in the street - they are trying to buy a ballet costume shop in Sale. I offered them a little advice to make it even more special. Think about it, a shop filled with tutus, shoes, sparkly ribbons, tights and all the beautiful things needed to make every girl and boy, a ballerina. It would make the most beautiful Pink Tutu Sparkles shop!

Keep believing in the tutu-ful magic, my darlings. Until next time, stay fabulous!

Love and sparkly kisses,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
