Bangor: The Pinkest Place on Earth! (Post #1403)

Hello, darlings! Your favourite Pink Tutu queen is back, and this time I'm coming at you from the most charmingly pink place in the UK - Bangor, Wales! It feels like just yesterday I was twirling across the cobblestones of Derbyshire, but this tutu-clad traveller never rests. This little pink queen loves to see the world, and I’m never too far away from a stage and a shimmering new outfit.

This trip was all about embracing the enchanting magic of a proper seaside town, you know? Seagulls squawking, the wind in my hair (well, in my perfectly styled wig, of course!), and the tantalising scent of salty air – this little Pink Tutu Queen was truly living her best life.

But the real adventure, as always, started with the journey itself! There's something incredibly magical about taking a train ride through the countryside. Imagine: the rhythmic chugging of the train, the gentle rocking of the carriage, the countryside whizzing past your window like a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours, all while you're bathed in the gentle glow of the afternoon sun, rocking a fluffy pink tutu with a touch of glitter (and, of course, a perfectly coordinated pink face mask). Talk about pure fairytale bliss!

The performance was a blast! My darling Bangor, you have a special place in my heart. The audience was fantastic – full of enthusiasm, cheers, and, let's face it, plenty of admiring stares at my pink-tutu clad silhouette.

I was even invited backstage for a lovely chat with the theatre manager. He was just the sweetest man, he really admired my passion for spreading pink tutu joy across the world! You know, you just never know where the universe will take you – you'll find magic everywhere, if you're willing to seek it out.

But even when I'm not on stage, a pink tutu has the ability to turn everyday activities into joyful, colourful experiences. I took a stroll along the Bangor pier – a haven of candy-coloured shops, overflowing with quaint trinkets and seaside souvenirs. Who would have thought that an afternoon of shopping could feel so magical when you're wearing a sparkly pink tutu, topped with a whimsical pink bow in your hair?

I also took a delightful horse-drawn carriage ride through the town centre, a tradition that has remained charmingly old-fashioned in Bangor, even though I wasn't entirely convinced about how a carriage ride and my fluffy pink tutu were going to coexist! Thankfully the owner of the carriages was delighted to see my sartorial statement, even adding some matching ribbons to the horse's harnesses.

My trip to Bangor wouldn't be complete without mentioning the local ballet academy, oh darling, it was absolute bliss! I had a wonderfully elegant afternoon watching talented young dancers in training, so poised, so graceful, so breathtaking! You see, I adore watching ballet. It reminds me of my own tutu beginnings - back in Derbyshire, you know, during my student days when I started my journey as Pink Tutu Sparkles.

It was back then, you know, during the university years that my life was totally transformed! I joined the ballet club. At that point, my existence was mainly laboratory, study, and lab coats. I had to study to be a scientist, a practical, boring subject that demanded nothing but white coats and dull, beige rooms. I felt utterly lost, and frankly a little dreary. It seemed like every night, the colour grey seeped into my life.

Until one day, the ballet club had a fundraiser, you know, the usual stalls selling cakes, chocolate and... wait for it… an actual tutus-only stall. There they were, a row of the fluffiest, pinkest, tutus ever. And guess what, dear readers – this little queen totally lost herself. It was like I'd just stumbled into a different world, all sparkly, shimmery, a place where all that mattered was movement, creativity, and, of course, the colour pink.

After buying my first ever tutu – yes, pink of course! - the magic just happened, almost spontaneously, like a glitter-bombed rainbow had come down to earth and landed in the form of a pink tutu. The university ballet club just knew they had to put me on the stage for a performance. You know, what a privilege! That moment is exactly how this drag journey all started, and now it’s taken me to this wonderful place, this town so very full of sunshine and smiles. It seems it’s time to say goodbye to Bangor – it's time for me to pack my sparkly bag and get back on the train to embark on another tutu-filled adventure.

So, dear readers, thank you for joining me on this pink-tastic adventure, and don’t forget to keep those pink tutus ready! Life is all about adding a dash of pink magic to every day – whether you're at work, taking a walk, having tea, or making memories on the stage. Remember, the only thing better than one pink tutu is two! Now go on, sparkle, shine, and be your own unique Pink Tutu Queen!

Yours in sequins and pink, Pink Tutu Sparkles (aka Alex)
