Leith Calling! - Post #1431

Hey, lovelies! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another sparkly blog post, fresh from a whirlwind trip to Leith!

Travels by Train and Dreams of Tutus

You know how much I love a good train journey - that gentle rhythm of the wheels and the ever-changing landscapes are practically hypnotic. It's the perfect time for daydreaming about all the pink tutus I'd like to buy and all the shows I could wear them in. This trip was no exception! The train to Edinburgh was filled with colourful characters and vibrant energy, and I couldn't help but feel inspired.

Leith itself is just delightful! It's a beautiful part of Edinburgh with charming cobbled streets and fascinating history. We were there to see the fabulous “Nutcracker” ballet production at the Traverse Theatre. It’s just about my favourite ballet ever. The dancers were mesmerising – it felt like I was in a world of magic and snowflakes! I almost forgot to snap my iconic ‘tutu-and-sparkles’ photo with the theatre front – gotta keep the brand going, darlings!

A Touch of Theatrical Pink

The show itself was a real treat – stunning choreography, delicate sets, and costumes that would have made a fashionista swoon. But what really stole the show were the tutus! Oh, the tutus! My dear, I could have worn every single one! From the classical romantic tutus with their fluffy, layered tulle, to the more contemporary tutus with bold cuts and edgy textures, I was living my absolute best life. I'd almost be tempted to trade in my stage tutu for one of these! Almost. 😉

Speaking of which, my current tutu, "The Princess Peach," was feeling a little nervous about the stage debut. You know how these delicate things are! But she managed like a champion, shining under the stage lights and even scoring me a few compliments from a gentleman in the front row – he said he’d never seen anything quite as sparkly and beautiful. (Not bad for a pink tutu!)

Leith is My Shell

We even had time for a little explore after the show. A stroll through Leith’s streets took us past vibrant cafes, charming boutiques and galleries bursting with colour. I was on the lookout for the perfect shop to get a souvenir – nothing says "Pink Tutu Sparkles was here" like a new pink tutu. Thankfully, I managed to snag a lovely pair of vintage ballet shoes and a book on the history of the theatre. The perfect mementos!

It's a Pink World

I must say, Leith completely charmed me with its artistry and welcoming spirit. I felt like I’d stepped into a dream of pink-tutu-wearing angels (in the best possible way, darling!). It just goes to show you can find magic and wonder anywhere, even if you're wearing a tutu in the middle of the city.

So, I urge you all to unleash your inner tutu princess and spread a little bit of pink joy wherever you go! And remember, darlings, if you're feeling a little lost in life, don't forget the magic of ballet and tutus. Because a little bit of sparkle goes a long way.

Stay tuned, my dears, for my next post. And be sure to let me know where I should go next – maybe I'll meet you in the most fabulous tutu you've ever seen!

Lots of love and sparkles,

Pink Tutu Sparkles ✨💖
