This post is extra special because it's all about my trip to the legendary city of Belfast, the heart of Northern Ireland! Belfast has always held a special place in my heart, what with its rich history, bustling energy, and a truly vibrant culture that reminds me so much of home!
Now, as a queen who believes in grand entrances, naturally, I chose to make my way to Belfast in style. My travel attire? A dazzling pink tutu, of course! It’s not everyday that you see a queen in a full, flowing tutu on a train journey. The other passengers definitely did a double take, and some even gave me shy smiles, which, of course, I returned with a flourish and a "Hello there!"
This was a trip about celebrating the wonderful world of dance. I'm a massive ballet buff, always searching for the next spectacular performance, so a trip to Belfast just wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Opera House. Oh, darlings, I can still feel the goosebumps! The ballet was absolutely breathtaking! You know, a beautiful piece like that is exactly what I need to fuel my creativity and bring new ideas for my drag acts to life.
After the performance, the urge to explore the city was too strong to resist. Belfast's charming cobbled streets and historical buildings felt almost magical bathed in the warm, evening glow. Every corner had its own unique charm, and you can definitely tell that this is a city that knows how to celebrate its past and embrace its present.
I wasn’t alone in my love for tutus! I stumbled across a small but charming vintage clothing shop nestled in one of the alleys. Imagine my delight! I found the most divine, dusty, and utterly unique collection of vintage tutus - perfect for a queen who appreciates a touch of the classic! Let's just say my bag was heavier leaving the shop than when I went in. It's hard to resist those vintage treasures. I knew immediately that these tutus deserved to be shown off, so I waltzed my way out of the shop and back to my hotel for a impromptu photo shoot, naturally! My latest acquisitions are destined to make a splash in future shows, I'm certain of it!
Of course, no trip is complete without the right kind of fuel. And for this queen, that meant seeking out the most delicious and delectable delights Belfast has to offer. Think freshly baked bread, hearty Irish stew, and, for the sweet tooth that I have, mouthwatering lemon meringue pie! What a feast!
The journey back from Belfast was filled with reflections. It's incredible to think that this one city, steeped in history and overflowing with beauty, has inspired me so much.
