Lyon, Lyon, Oh Lyon! 🇫🇷💖🩰 (Blog Post #1597)

Hello, my darlings! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back from another whirlwind adventure. This time, I've been frolicking in the charming city of Lyon, France, and I'm brimming with excitement to share all the pink-tastic fun I had.

As you know, I'm always on the lookout for the most glamorous destinations, and this trip certainly ticked all the boxes!

It all started with a whimsical train journey, you know I love a good old-fashioned train ride. There's something about the chugging of the engine and the view flying past that gets my creative juices flowing.

The journey to Lyon was filled with vibrant pink dreams. I'd be lying if I didn't confess I was absolutely bursting with anticipation to explore the city, a place steeped in history and renowned for its cultural gems. And naturally, I couldn't leave my trusty pink tutu at home! It felt a little strange going through security with a fluffy tutu draped over my suitcase, but I think I've mastered the art of keeping the flight attendants amused these days.

Lyon's streets are a delightful blend of ancient and modern, and I fell head over heels for its cobbled streets and charming cafes. The architecture was truly breathtaking. Every corner I turned seemed to be framed by intricate stonework and delicate wrought iron. It's no wonder that Lyon's a haven for artists! I imagine a ballet set would be incredible with all the dramatic shadows and moody lighting!

Speaking of ballet, I had a divine experience at the beautiful Opéra de Lyon. The theatre itself is an architectural marvel - think opulent red velvet seats, ornate chandeliers that gleam with a million little lights, and gold-gilded balconies overlooking the stage. I felt like I was in a dream!

I watched the most enchanting performance of "Swan Lake," with the ballerinas swirling and leaping across the stage in an ethereal haze of tutus. I could barely contain my squeals of delight! Every movement was like poetry in motion - it was such an inspiring experience. You just know there are a few dancers hiding somewhere waiting to don their tutus and come out as drag queens. There was a real passion on the stage.

In between rehearsals for my own shows, I indulged in some fabulous shopping in the trendy shops around the city. My luggage practically overflowed with delightful pink delights - everything from glittery headbands to sequin-covered handbags. There was even a shop where I found a matching pink tutu for my dog, Buddy! He wasn't too keen on the initial photoshoot with the tutu, but by the third take, he'd mastered the "model dog" look with a cheeky smile.

No trip to Lyon is complete without indulging in its culinary delights, especially the region's famed 'Bouchons Lyonnais', traditional restaurants. My tummy was in absolute heaven. You can’t go wrong with an incredible creamy chocolate mousse, fluffy baguette or any of the delicious salads that abound in Lyon, especially if the shop window features the colour pink! I also picked up a box of exquisite French chocolates. Honestly, it was pure bliss for the tastebuds. And of course, I couldn't resist having my picture taken in front of the gorgeous "Grande-Hôtel de Lyon," the epitome of Parisian grandeur. I had a photoshoot outside with my pink tutu draped across my shoulder. My new “Pink Tutu Lyon” photos now grace the homepage of www.pink-tutu.com.

But of course, it wouldn't be a proper Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without some performances! I got to strut my stuff at the beautiful Halle Tony Garnier, a spectacular venue known for its concerts and events. It was a dream come true to dance in front of such an enthusiastic crowd, sharing my love for all things sparkly and pink! I danced my heart out in a dazzling pink tutu that practically shone with its own light, the crowds roaring with cheers for every twirl! As soon as I came off the stage, I was surrounded by a whole group of pink tutu lovers wanting photos with their favorite pink queen! What more could I wish for?

I know what you're thinking - you're dying to know all about my pink tutu outfit, aren't you? 💅💖 I wore a tulle masterpiece in the most stunning shade of rose pink with cascading layers of tulle and sparkling accents, a little black velvet bodice for contrast. Of course, it wouldn't be complete without a feather boa and a pair of ruby red sparkly platform heels. The effect? Pure glamour. And the entire outfit shimmered with that French charm. The look itself got me loads of excited, chatty fans.

I don’t know about you, but when I'm travelling I like to pick up a few unique mementos. You know, something that screams "This is from France!" For my visit, I picked up some gorgeous lavender sachets for my closet. You know, I'm all about creating a harmonious environment of pink, sequins and of course, a touch of lavender. I've also started to get obsessed with antique teacups. I have my eye on a particularly exquisite cup and saucer at the antique shop back home!

But before you ask, it wouldn't be my style to travel anywhere without finding something sparkly and pink, of course. While wandering through the narrow, cobbled alleyways, I stumbled upon the most delightful vintage shop overflowing with vintage treasures and glittering jewels. It was pink heaven. The lovely shop owner even gifted me a sparkly, antique, hand-painted pink porcelain butterfly ornament for my dress collection, all with a beautiful little touch of gold. It was absolutely exquisite, the most magical pink touch to my visit to Lyon! It currently sits pride of place amongst the sequins and glitters of my boudoir in Derbyshire.

In the evening, as I made my way through the picturesque Place Bellecour, surrounded by majestic fountains and historic buildings, I felt completely enchanted by Lyon’s captivating beauty.

It was as if the city itself embraced my pink-tutu clad heart with open arms. The air was filled with the tantalising aromas of street food and the laughter of locals as they strolled through the city squares. Even the locals stopped and asked for selfies!

There's no place quite like Lyon. Its magical combination of history, art, fashion and exquisite food has made me feel as though I’ve been sprinkled with fairy dust!

However, it’s time for Pink Tutu Sparkles to venture off into the world. Next stop, Venice! I wonder if there's a gondola in a beautiful pink colour?!

Until next time, my darlings, keep twirling in your tutus and stay fabulous!
