It was the most picturesque little town you can imagine, charming shops bursting with vibrant flowers, and a gentle breeze rustling the leaves in the quaint, ivy-covered cottages. And you wouldn’t believe it, but they actually have a beautiful old theatre here – talk about a dream come true for a drag queen like me!
But hold your horses – before we delve into the glittery details, let’s rewind a little bit. How did this glamorous Queen of the Tutus find herself nestled in Walton Upon Thames? Well, you see, I’m always on the go, a tireless butterfly flitting from one stage to another, spreading joy and sparkle with each performance!
This time, I journeyed to Walton upon Thames by a charming and classic mode of transportation - train! You see, I have a thing for travelling on trains. Something about the rhythm of the tracks, the gentle sway of the carriage, the way the landscape unfurls like a giant, vibrant scroll as we journey to a new destination - it fills me with a sense of anticipation and wonder, especially if I can look out of the window and see lush green fields rolling by. Don't get me wrong, a graceful gallop on a magnificent steed would have been lovely too, but sadly this was not the case for this adventure!
Anyway, you lovely lot know that I’m always chasing new experiences, new audiences, and, of course, the perfect shade of pink tutu! This time, it was a charming little festival that called to my heartstrings. It promised live music, delicious food stalls, and a fun, friendly atmosphere – right up my sparkly alley! And who could resist the opportunity to make the locals dance and shine with the magic of pink tutus?
So, there I was, backstage at the festival, getting prepped and primed to put on a show to remember! Let me tell you, there's nothing quite like the pre-performance buzz – the music pumping in your ears, the air filled with excitement, the anticipation of the crowd's reaction, and just the thrill of knowing you're about to transport the audience to a land of dazzling imagination!
As soon as the music kicked in, I hit the stage, swirling my tulle with abandon and letting those gorgeous, shimmering lights play upon my sparkly costume. Oh, the joy! The faces in the crowd, alight with wonder and amusement, the applause and the cheers echoing around the festival grounds!

I couldn’t resist taking a peek behind the scenes, which reminded me so much of my time in the university ballet club! Back then, I was just Alex, a nervous young science student, who found herself captivated by the world of ballet. I remember that moment so clearly - trying on a tutu for a charity event. The feel of the soft, shimmering fabric against my skin, the swirl of the tulle, the feeling of complete freedom - it was a moment that ignited my love for the dramatic, sparkly world of pink tutus.
