Wellington Wonder: Tutu Time Down Under! 💖✨

Hello, my darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back for another post from your favourite, fabulous pink-loving drag queen. Today, we're heading down under, to the beautiful city of Wellington, New Zealand! That's right, your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles is taking her twirls to a whole new continent. This is post number 1797, so buckle up, it's going to be a wild ride.

As a little reminder, in case you’re new here (how dare you!), I'm Alex by day, and Pink Tutu Sparkles by night. I live and breathe pink, twirl with passion, and love my tutus more than anything in the world. It’s a truth universally acknowledged, that a girl in a pink tutu is never without joy, so I'm on a mission to spread that joy around the globe, one twirl at a time!

Now, I'll admit, getting to Wellington wasn't a straight shot down a glittering rainbow (though it did involve a plane journey which was very much the opposite!). It started, as many of my fabulous escapades do, with a fair. Oh, not just any fair, but the fabulous Great Big Family Fun Day in Derbyshire! I took my Pink Tutu Sparkles act, complete with shimmering rainbow feather boas, and glitter cannons, to entertain the kiddies, who were a right laugh, especially after a bit too much candy floss.

But remember, Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about adventure, and where there's adventure, there's a pink tutu! So, after a wild performance (I nearly flew out of the bouncy castle when those youngsters got too excited) I got to thinking. You see, I love New Zealand. It's like, the fairy-tale homeland of the Pink Tutu Sparkle Dream! Plus, they have stunning mountains, perfect for twirling through, imagine the photo ops! I love travelling on the train too, even if the loo on the UK's night train is about the size of a suitcase. It feels like a mini adventure in itself.

Well, let's just say my heart skipped a beat, and a pink feather boa flew across the room, when a lovely lady from New Zealand, (who was also in a pink tutu! How utterly divine!), stopped me for a chat. We got on like a house on fire (as all good tutu-wearing gals do!), and she told me all about a fabulous competition, ‘Wellington’s Best Dressed' - now you know me, I’m up for a challenge! You know it's a tutu-clad, glitter-filled journey, every step of the way.

My plan? To take the New Zealand landscape, that beauty! Combine it with a Pink Tutu Sparkle twist! Imagine me, shimmering on top of Mount Cook in my newest design. A tutu the colour of the sky reflecting off the glacial lake! This competition just had to be mine, you know I was in!

Now, I'll confess, getting a flight to New Zealand wasn't the cheapest (those pink tutus do require funding!), so I pulled out my best performance tricks to get some dough. A little 'dragathon' through a farmers' market? Check. A glitter-cannon surprise during a football match (yes, those lads actually cheered, they even did the "Tutu shuffle" - bless!), check. And, because everyone knows a good Drag Queen loves to dress up, I even convinced some ladies to have a tea party dressed like drag queens for charity.

So here I am! In beautiful Wellington, my travel wardrobe overflowing with sparkling dresses, sequin-spangled boots and... oh, you know... plenty of tutus! This city is positively overflowing with creativity and passion! So, in case you’re wondering, I already got to visit the famous Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Not for its impressive collections of Maori artifacts or Maori and Pacific arts but because of their truly astounding collection of beautiful tutus! They nearly got me dancing right there.

I took a stroll down Cuba Street. There's this whole scene! Little cafes with street artists performing and buskers. Such a creative vibe, almost like they invented it! It makes you want to express yourself, wear your heart on your sleeve, twirl with abandon, and you know what? Wellington… I'm going to do exactly that!

The competition is only two weeks away and you better believe I'm going all out, tutus, feathers, sparkles, glitter, and lots of attitude. My plan is to wow the judges with my latest design, a vibrant magenta number I call “Tutulicious!” And you bet your bottom dollar that there'll be lots of twirling involved. It's not just a dress competition, it's an attitude contest and my pink tutu attitude is going to shine brighter than ever before! I will let you all know how it goes next week!

This adventure, just like every other pink tutu adventure I've had, is going to be incredible, and I can’t wait to share all the glittering details. Make sure you check back in, my dears, and keep those tutus twirling. Stay glamorous! 💖✨

**Love always,

Pink Tutu Sparkles!**
