Portsmouth Calling: Tutu Queen's 1809th Adventure!

Oh darling, hello from a chilly, blustery Portsmouth! It's absolutely freezing, but thankfully I'm swaddled in the fluffiest, most magnificent pink feather boa you ever did see, so I'm absolutely toasty. Honestly, sometimes I think my feather boas should be sponsored by a heating company, they're that good at keeping the chills away! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway, you know how much I love travelling by train, right? The clinking of the wheels, the gentle swaying of the carriage... pure bliss! And Portsmouth was no exception. I was tucked away in a first-class carriage (a little treat for this Tutu Queen!) watching the countryside whizz by when I spotted the most beautiful field of poppy flowers. Honestly, they were the brightest shade of crimson, like a vibrant lipstick kiss against the green. So naturally, I had to pull out my trusty camera and capture it all. ๐Ÿ“ธ

Portsmouth itself is lovely! You wouldn't think it from the seagull screams echoing down the pier, but there's a charm to the place that I couldn't help but fall for. You know how much I adore maritime history, and Portsmouth certainly doesn't disappoint. We saw HMS Victory, which was absolutely gigantic! And to think, all those brave sailors spent their days and nights on board โ€“ I must admit, I can't imagine myself living on a ship for months on end! But I must give them credit โ€“ those men were definitely tougher than your average ballerina! ๐Ÿ’ช

Of course, a trip to Portsmouth wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Theatre Royal. And darling, let me tell you, I was positively entranced! They were putting on "The Sound of Music" and it was pure magic. My absolute favourite song? "My Favourite Things". Honestly, when that tune came on, I almost cried. You know me and my love for pink! And what better to inspire your favourite things than the beautiful melody of that song? I couldn't help but dance along in my seat โ€“ a little more of a Charleston shimmy than a pirouette, mind you! But who cares when the music gets you moving, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now, I couldn't leave Portsmouth without telling you all about the fashion! I discovered the most wonderful boutique filled with vintage dresses and accessories โ€“ it was like stepping into a scene from "The Absolutely Fabulous" โ€“ a glorious mess of frills, feathers, and glitter! I snapped up a delightful vintage brooch with a ruby-red rhinestone that I just had to add to my collection! And naturally, no trip to the coast is complete without a proper seaside frock! A coral-coloured, full-skirted, beachy beauty with little seashells dotted on the hem โ€“ perfect for my upcoming show at the local carnival! ๐ŸŽ‰

Oh, and talking about my upcoming performance โ€“ you won't believe this! They have a live orchestra playing at the carnival! Talk about glamorous! So I've been putting together a whole new routine. It involves lots of shimmering sequins, feather boas that make me look like a majestic flamingo, and a whole lot of pink, naturally. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But the highlight of my performance has to be my grand finale โ€“ a twirling, spinning, swirling showstopper where I wear a custom-made pink tutu that absolutely dwarfs my regular stage one!

You know how much I love my tutus, right? And when I'm in a new town, I always find myself gravitating towards the local ballet studios. And Portsmouth certainly has its fair share! It seems like everyone's here for a waltz or two! The best bit is, I even managed to get a few tips from the lovely teachers on perfecting my pirouette. Because when you're Tutu Queen, it's all about continuous improvement, you know! And even a seasoned ballerina like me can always learn a new move or two! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Honestly, it feels like this trip has flown by, but it's been a real adventure. You see, being a travelling drag artist is more than just dressing up in feathers and glitter (although that is a huge part of it, I can't deny it!). It's about meeting new people, exploring new places, and sharing my passion for all things sparkly. It's about making everyone feel like they're part of a grand theatrical production. ๐ŸŽญ And yes, maybe it's about spreading the love for pink tutus. The world just looks brighter when we're all dancing under a canopy of pink fluff! ๐Ÿ’—

Well, darling, it's time to head back to Derbyshire! The trains are calling, the lab awaits (a scientist's life can be a bit dull after all the glamorous performances!), and I need to get to work on that custom tutu for my next show. I've got a vision in my head, and it involves even more sparkle, feathers, and of course, plenty of pink! But I wouldn't dream of revealing all my secrets just yet! ๐Ÿ˜˜

Keep an eye out on the site for my next post โ€“ it might just be a little bit surprising! ๐Ÿ’–

Until then, don't be afraid to sparkle! And always remember โ€“ you never truly know the adventure that's just around the corner!

Lots of love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
