Hello darlings, and welcome to another dazzling day on the www.pink-tutu.com blog! Today's adventure finds me in the beautiful seaside town of Worthing, all set for a glorious performance at the grand old theatre, shimmering in my latest creation! I can't tell you how excited I am! 💖

The train journey down from Derbyshire was absolutely blissful. As the sun cast golden light onto the rolling countryside, I tucked into my travel essentials - a miniature pink tutu (for spontaneous twirls), a travel-sized sewing kit (just in case!), and a pink tea set (gotta keep those hydration levels up, you know). 😉

Worthing itself is a right charmer! Cobblestone streets, quaint cafes, and that most glorious scent of salt air! You know I had to find a vintage shop, and of course, the cutest little hat shop. (I may have walked out with a delicate pink feathered number for tonight's show, just saying!) 👒

The theatre itself is a gem. Grand arches, velvet curtains, the stage all prepped for my fabulousness. It really takes you back to the golden age of theatre, don't you think? The stage manager was absolutely lovely, and offered to have some champagne ready backstage, so you know I'm ready to rock this evening! 🥂

As always, I couldn't just pop into Worthing without a bit of ballet! The local dance studio is holding a class tonight, so you can bet your bottom dollar that Pink Tutu Sparkles is ready to give those muscles a good workout! Maybe I'll even inspire a few other ballerinas to rock some pink! 😉 I'll definitely share a pic of my pointe shoes and the adorable pink tutu-inspired outfit I'm planning! 🩰

Now, before I head into my evening show, I wanted to share a little glimpse into the life of Alex, the woman behind the pink tulle! You might be wondering, how does one scientist with a passion for fabric testing and a secret love of pink tutus transform into the dazzling drag performer that is Pink Tutu Sparkles?

Well, it all started back in uni. Studying science, surrounded by beakers and test tubes, wouldn't be your usual entry point into the world of drag, but as it turned out, my science lab had a unique charm - we actually tested fabric for different industries. It wasn't long before my interest turned to textiles, and specifically, the beautiful fabrics used in dance costumes. The spark, or should I say, the sparkle, was ignited when the uni's ballet club was holding a fundraising event. A few students volunteered to wear tutus and raise awareness for local charities. I took one look at the delicate pink tulle and... well, let's just say the universe spoke to me in sequins!

That night, I stood on the stage in that bright pink tutu, lights shining down, and I felt an electricity like no other. This was it, this was my calling! Of course, it took a while to develop the character, build a stage presence, and learn how to create those elaborate costumes, but the desire to inspire, to spread joy, and yes, to encourage everyone to wear pink tutus never faded.

Being Alex by day, working with my lab partners, discussing complex molecules, analysing samples of woven fabric... it's actually a great training ground for the life of Pink Tutu Sparkles. You see, fashion, design, and science - they're all about pushing boundaries, creating new things, and exploring new worlds.
