Helloooo darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the utterly charming Aberdeen, a city brimming with character, history, and – most importantly – a certain sparkle that speaks to this fabulous queen's heart. 😉
Now, let me tell you, my journey to Aberdeen was quite an experience! As much as I adore train journeys (especially the comfy carriages with that satisfying clickety-clack on the tracks), the stars decided to take me on a different route this time – one where horses played the leading role. You see, dear readers, the roads were blocked by the most dreadful snowstorm you could imagine, so I had to resort to a horse-drawn carriage – very dramatic, very 'Gone with the Wind', and certainly the only way to arrive in Aberdeen with the panache this Queen demands!
Stepping out into Aberdeen, the first thing that struck me was the beauty of it all – the stunning architecture, those glorious stone buildings that are just made for fabulous photographs in a vibrant pink tutu (the one with the extra-fluffy layers, darling, if you know what I mean!) But more on the outfit later, let's focus on the atmosphere...
Oh, this city just feels special! The folks in Aberdeen are warm and welcoming, a breath of fresh air in the sometimes frantic world of this Pink Tutu Sparkles. You can really feel the strong sense of community, especially when everyone is gathered at the harbour watching the boats roll in. I, of course, found myself the centre of attention (well, one can only expect such things when they look as divine as this queen!) with a seagull who tried to steal a feather off my tutu. Talk about being starstruck!
And now, for the part you've all been waiting for...the fashion, darling, the FASHION! I simply HAD to pay a visit to the lovely independent boutiques, don't you know, where I snagged a delightful floral print scarf that just screamed, 'Pink Tutu Sparkles!' (Just a teensy-weensy hint of pink, of course). I do love a bit of retail therapy – a girl's gotta keep her closet bursting with amazing things to wear!
As always, a city isn't truly conquered without an introduction to its dance scene, right? And Aberdeen did not disappoint! I had the absolute pleasure of attending a captivating ballet performance at His Majesty's Theatre, my beloved tutus sparkling under the spotlight in perfect harmony with the dancers’ graceful moves. You just can’t beat that feeling, can you? I tell you, the passion these ballet dancers displayed was truly inspiring – and my favourite ballerina was wearing a pink tutu, just like me! What are the chances? It’s meant to be! 😉
Of course, what would a visit to Aberdeen be without a stroll through the city's delightful cobblestone streets? And a delightful stroll it was – my fluffy pink tutu adding a touch of extra sparkle to each cobblestone as I twirled down the path, stopping for pictures at every interesting corner! The friendly locals couldn’t resist stopping to compliment me on my outfits, which – if you know me at all – always means the world to this Pink Tutu Queen!
Aberdeen is a city of true charm and I must say, I've fallen head over heels for its history and stunning beauty. It's a perfect blend of urban buzz and peaceful charm, making me wonder if it might just become my next go-to destination. But darling, as the Pink Tutu Sparkles always says – we never know what fabulous adventure awaits us on our next journey, right?
