Welling Wonderful: Tutu Travels to Kent, Post #1975!

Hello, darlings! It’s your favourite pink-loving, tutu-toting queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and oh boy, have I got a treat for you today!

This is post number 1975, which means I've been sharing my sparkling adventures with you for over five years now! And what better way to celebrate than with a journey to the charming town of Welling in Kent!

Now, you may be thinking, "Welling? Is there anything to do there, darling?" Let me tell you, sweethearts, this town was a delightful surprise! It's got a lovely, down-to-earth vibe, a perfect mix of old-world charm and modern bustle, and believe me, Welling knows how to embrace the "extra" and let's just say, the sparkly tutus and I had a whirlwind of a time!

As you know, my preferred mode of transportation is a grand train journey, and this one didn't disappoint! The rolling English countryside whizzing by the window, the gentle clinking of teacups in the refreshment trolley - it's all part of the delightful charm of rail travel, don't you think? And as I sat by the window, wrapped in my most fabulous fuchsia coat (naturally paired with my signature tutu), the whole carriage seemed to glitter a little brighter, if you know what I mean!

But the real highlight of the journey was the chance encounter I had with a little girl in the waiting room! She was completely mesmerised by my sparkly tutu and kept whispering to her mum "Mummy, I want to be a princess!"

Now, my heart melted, darling. Who am I to stop a child from embracing their own inner princess, right? I immediately invited her to take a twirl with me, and let's just say, she totally owned the dance floor right there in the waiting room.

And who knows, maybe it sparked a lifelong passion for tutus in her. After all, every single one of us deserves a chance to shine. That’s what Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about.

Arriving in Welling, the first thing that struck me was the quaint charm of the high street. The independent shops, the friendly faces, the smell of freshly baked cakes from the local bakeries – it felt like stepping back in time, in the best way possible. And of course, the town centre is perfectly equipped with the essential tutu-shop supplies I need for my drag performances – not to mention all the adorable little shops filled with pretty dresses and shoes for a girl like me to accessorise my collection with!

After all, a tutu-loving queen must have a rotating wardrobe, darling.

Then it was time for my show at the local community theatre! Now, this little theatre had seen better days – let’s just say the carpeting needed a serious makeover – but the spirit of the performers and the warmth of the audience were simply magical. They were the real stars! My set was a bit different from the glamour of London, with the small stage and rather basic lighting – but to be honest, darling, I was in my element! A small space is just a challenge to be overcome and an opportunity to be even more inventive with my performance, showcasing my skills in a way that really wowed the audience. There is nothing quite like making a smaller stage feel grand!

I ended my performance with a song I’ve written myself (the melody is just as gorgeous as the tutus, darling! ) and then came the part I love the most – the question and answer session with the audience. People are always so curious about being a tutu queen – and I love answering their questions and spreading the message of embracing your inner sparkles, be it in a sparkly pink tutu, a fabulous outfit or a brilliant performance, it's all about living your truth!

The next day I was back on the train, heading for my next adventure, but Welling will always hold a special place in my heart. You never know, darling, maybe I'll be back soon to have a go on the local horse riding trails!
