I'm positively buzzing to bring you post number 2035, a chronicle of my fabulous trip to the charming town of Cramlington! Let me tell you, this journey was packed with twirls, giggles, and, of course, enough pink to make your average flamingo blush!
I absolutely adore travelling, my dears! It's so exciting to see the world, especially in my pink tutu! The journey to Cramlington was a right treat. I took the train, as you know I love a good carriage ride. The countryside whizzing past the window is truly inspirational, a perfect setting to sketch some new ballet routines and think up sparkly ideas for future posts!
Of course, as a Pink Tutu Sparkles tradition, I donned my brightest pink tutu and a matching top, accessorised with my trusty tiara, for the journey. People absolutely adored it! Everyone was grinning and waving as I skipped through the station. It truly makes my heart flutter when I can spread a bit of sparkle wherever I go! 💖
The Cramlington folks were so warm and welcoming. I simply adore the friendly, open spirit of the North, a real refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of London life, which can feel a tad intense at times, especially for a gal as sparkly as me.
I spent the afternoon shopping at a local charity shop, a personal favourite! You'd be surprised what hidden gems you can find amongst the rails of vintage finery, especially in towns like Cramlington where they seem to have a special fondness for a bit of old-school glam. It's actually a great way to give old clothes a new lease of life! I found some lovely pink satin gloves that just screamed, 'Pink Tutu Sparkles!' Not forgetting, it's always lovely to do a bit of good for charity while looking utterly fantastic, don't you think?
Later on, I joined a dance workshop at a local community centre, teaching everyone my favourite ballet moves! Cramlington's got real talent! Everyone, from young children to adults, was bouncing around in their pink tutus and sparkly skirts, full of joie de vivre. It was absolute bliss to watch everyone learning and having fun! It truly warmed my pink-tastic heart!
My performance later that evening was simply spectacular! It's one thing to wear a pink tutu on a train, but a whole other level of glamour on stage, believe me! The venue, a beautiful little theatre with ornate lighting, made me feel like I was right out of a ballet performance. My routine, a whimsical ballet piece featuring a touch of jazz and plenty of twirling, was a real smash! You could practically hear the crowd gasp every time I dipped or spun! 💖✨
Of course, no trip to a new place is complete without experiencing local cuisine! The fish and chips I had at the local chippy were just delightful! Paired with my new pink satin gloves, it was truly a memorable experience, full of simple joy. The chippy owner was so charmed, he even gave me a free pink ice cream!

Now, let's chat a little about how all this happened! I just can't resist telling you about the extraordinary journey that led me to Pink Tutu Sparkles. You see, way back when, a young Alex, as they call me in my day job, was studying science! My true calling was definitely science, though you might be surprised by my science degree - it's in textile testing, analysing and testing materials, especially fabrics, that sort of thing. The lab was pretty interesting, but frankly, after a while it was a little... well, frankly, it lacked sparkle.It was around this time that my world was turned upside down! A chance encounter with a charity stall and a playful, borrowed tutu ignited something inside me that I couldn't quite explain. That fluffy pinkness, the beautiful design of the tulle - it simply had me hooked.
At this time I was in the university's ballet club. It was such a joy to meet other people with the same passion, and my interest in performing blossomed. One evening, as I was changing for a practice session, I spotted a lovely pink tutu in my friend's bag - I had to ask if I could try it on. Suddenly, I understood what everyone was talking about when they spoke about ballet. It felt incredible, like dancing with angels! And it definitely sparked my passion for drag!
From that moment, I just knew my calling in life. I would be Pink Tutu Sparkles - the most sparkly, glitzy, flamboyant drag artist that the world had ever seen! My passion was simple - get everyone to wear a pink tutu! I truly believed, and still do, that pink tutus have a magical power to unite us, a power to inspire laughter, love, and simply joy.
So here I am! A scientist by day and Pink Tutu Sparkles by night! And yes, I am an absolutely committed Pink Tutu Sparkles devotee! From designing dazzling routines to spending hours poring over costume designs (my weakness, honestly!), my days are an explosion of colour and sparkle! And yes, my obsession with pink is truly, utterly, totally, beyond rational explanation, you could even say it's utterly irrational, darling!
From the start, my biggest dream was to create a world full of dancing pink tutus. Now, you might think that getting everyone to wear a pink tutu might seem a little strange - "But isn't that a bit... odd?" - that’s what some people think, and to that, my dear friends, I say "Don't knock it until you try it!" I know that this world could use more pink! And I truly believe that wearing a pink tutu could change the world for the better, one spin, one giggle, and one perfectly placed glitter bomb at a time.
Don't worry about a thing, if you don’t have a pink tutu, just a dash of pink or a dash of sparkles in your attire will be enough to catch the Pink Tutu Sparkles eye. And always remember, even if you’re not feeling fabulous, the most amazing thing about a Pink Tutu is, that it makes you feel fabulous, inside and out.
